A Montreal-born Grenadian-Canadian, Kaia Kater’s old-time banjo skills, jazz-fueled voice and deft song craft have garnered acclaim from NPR, CBC, Rolling Stone, BBC Music and No Depression. Her 2016 release Nine Pin won a Canadian Folk Music Award and sent her on an 18-month touring journey from Ireland to Iowa. Kaia's third album, Grenades, was just released in October.
Lily Sexton’s original tunes possess the swing of Appalachian Old Time, the subtle throb of bluegrass rhythm and the sweetness of a high, lonesome melody. Lily is a fiddler in the local progressive bluegrass group, Mamma’s Marmalade, and has shared stages with Erin McKeown, Mike Compton and Joe Newberry.
