Elena & los Fulanos inaugurate Washington Performing Arts' new partnership with Dupont Underground with a concert featuring their unique sound that melds Latin, folk, and rock. The band formed in Columbia Heights & Mt. Pleasant in 2011 and is composed of musicians with Mexican and Nicaraguan roots. Washington City Paper praises their most recent recording as “a bilingual folk album for the resistance.” Their concert is part of Washington Performing Arts’ season-long “Latinx in D.C.” project, which explores the artistic and cultural contributions of the Latinx community in Washington, D.C.
Co-presented with Washington Performing Arts’ Mars Urban Arts Initiative, which is generously supported by Jacqueline Badger Mars and Mars, Incorporated.
