Brown Bag Conspiracy
AMERITOPIA (def): Music scribed amidst a fading prosperous landscape with references to country, blues, and social media.
A little bit country, a little bit rock & roll, with a little bit blues and folk deep in our soul.
Featuring Jenny Debevec, Loryn Barbeau, Douglas St. John, and Steve Egelman,
Teenager is the moniker of the sweetly defiant Bay Area songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Bevan Herbekian.
After a decade of forming bands on both coasts, playing everywhere from house shows to Bay Area institutions, recording in local lofts and state of the art studios with a big band and a big name producer, Bevan was never able to make manifest the music he heard in his head. He finally gave up on traditional channels and chose to craft his sound one piece at a time, at home, almost completely on his own. His latest LP, "The Magic of True Love", brings to life what had for so long been an unfulfilled fantasy. It is a luminous powerhouse of sound that teams Hi Fi production with impassioned songwriting and the intimacy of a late night conversation.

“Burning with hunger and romanticism, Teenager’s The Magic of True Love is a genuine Bay Area phenomenon and fascination.”-Impose Magazine
“Is it pop? God no. It is music with meaning, soul, and laborious passion.”-Oakland North
“Surely a testament to perseverance–but more than anything, it’s damn good music”-The Owl Mag
“Contagious. The Magic of True Love is full of unabashedly earnest, tightly crafted pop songs with seriously big instrumentation and heart. There are head-bobbers, there’s high-flying falsetto, there are shout-along soul choruses that are catchy as hell”-SF Guardian
