LUDO's Broken Bride

LUDO's Broken Bride

This concert presentation features the songs of LUDO's Broken Bride, a rock opera expanded from the album of the same name by alternative rock band Ludo. Thanks to the addition of songs from across LUDO's entire discography, the storyline has been enhanced from the original EP but its heart remains the same, telling one man's time-traveling journey from the Age of Dinosaurs to the Zombie Apocalypse, all to save his true love's life. In a shorter form the piece was presented to a sold-out audience at Ars Nova's ANT Fest 2013. This concert has it all -- pterodactyls, zombies, and true love!

LUDO's Broken Bride features an original Concept, Music and Lyrics by LUDO, Orchestrations by David Levinson, Adaptation by Stacey Weingarten, Puppets by James Wojtal, Projections by Pauline Lu, Styling by Bree Perry, and Lighting Consultation by Andrew Scharwath. Producers are Chinese Mother Jewish Daughter LLC, and Shoshana Feinstein.

Cast to be announced soon, featuring some of Broadway's finest.

LUDO is an alternative rock band consisting of Andrew Volpe, Tim Ferrell, Tim Convy, and Matt Palermo. Originally from St. Louis , Ludo’s trademark high-energy rock is intelligent, and imaginative. In 2003 their self-titled first album debuted on self-founded Redbird Records, followed by EP “Broken Bride” (2005). 2008’s “You’re Awful I Love You” (2008), marked the band’s major label debut on Island Records. Their popularity grew as “Love Me Dead” rose to No. 8 in the U.S. Modern Rock Tracks, and the band performed on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live and festivals including Warped Tour and Lollapalooza. Their most recent fare, “Prepare the Preparations” (2010) spans topics as wide-ranging as robots, pirates, and star-crossed robbers on the run.
