Souls of Liberty

Ryan Escobar and Tenelle Donta are Souls of Liberty, hip-hop duo destined to be the next revolutionary artists of their generation.

The Souls' debut mixtape, One Soul at a Time, dropped the summer of 2009 and was an introduction in the St.Louis hip-hop scene. Shortly after, The Best Is Yet To Come, released on January 1,2010 and continued the momentum and reached fans across the midwest because of its exposure at the University of Missouri. Carpe Diem, dropped July 2010, and was ranked #2 on STLmixtapes.com

Carpe Diem featured songs "Chosen," which was featured on Worldstarhiphop, and "Pretty Brown Girl" which gained popularity on St. Louis' only local hip-hop station Hot 104.1. The song was featured on the popular weekly show HomeJamz for 3 straight weeks.

In the summer of 2011, The Souls released their most acclaimed project to date with Brave New World. The project was voted as the Album of the Year at the 2012 SlumFest Awards, and several songs from the project were featured on hip-hop blogs HipHopDX and DJBooth.Net.

In December 2012, Souls of Liberty had the incredible privilege of opening for the successful west coast hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar at his SOLD OUT show at Jesse Hall on Mizzou's campus. They are currently working on an untitled project coming out later this year.
