Crooked I of Slaughter House

Crooked I of Slaughter House

Dominick Wickliffe, better known by his stage name Crooked I, is an American rapper from Long Beach, California. He is a member of the hip hop supergroup, Slaughterhouse with other members Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Royce da 5'9". Slaughterhouse is currently signed to Shady Records. Crooked I is currently CEO of his own record labels, Dynasty Entertainment and C.O.B. Digital[1] as well as Senior Vice President of Treacherous Records.[2] Before starting his own label, he was also signed to Virgin Records and Death Row Records.

The 80’s were an unforgettable decade. Hip hop achieved increased success, Michael Jackson brought it with Thriller, Whitney Houston wanted to Dance with Somebody and Doug E. Fresh beat boxed until he was blue in the face…but those weren’t the only milestones during that decade, it was the 80's, that TrePaper now known as Up·Scale was introduced to the world.

From his hometown of Austin, Texas to his life in the Bay Area; Up·Scale has been studying music and its every move. From legends like Run DMC to modern day moguls like Jay-Z, Up·Scale was inspired to learn all that music had to offer and that he had to offer music. From a young age he mastered the clarinet, tackled the piano and took those skills to another level and started creating beats and mixing music. From there- everything took off and his skills as a lyricist and a writer came to the forefront. That is when Up·Scale realized his passion – hip hop. But not ordinary hip hop, something more moving, something more appealing – something UPSCALE.

Not only was he collaborating with established artists and producers from across the nation, he was writing and honing his talent and perfecting his craft. For over a decade, Up·Scale, formerly known widely in the Bay Area as TrePaper, has been transforming, maturing and progressing. Upscale is his way of life, his music and he conveys it by the way he owns the stage during performances and captivates his audience.

Mani Draper

Mani Draper

"Use to wanna be king/ till they taught us in school they're killin' niggas with dreams"

With a knack for being too honest in a genre where fabrication is the suggested format for success, Armani Jackson known by several stage names Mondo, Mani Draper or just Mani is dead set on delivering the world through his eyes. A true "Baydestrian" in every sense of the word living everywhere from San Leandro to Fairfield, Richmond is nearest and dearest to his heart. Not because of the street credibility that comes with being associated with the violent plagued city; but, more so because it's where he felt safest and began to uncover a yearning that lye within him.

After receiving DJ equipment, Mani recorded his demo tape in hopes of understudying for a local DJ. From there it was no turning back. While the love only grew, the dedication would waiver as school and basketball would come first. After a successful high school career, he received a full athletic scholarship to Southern Oregon University. It would be there that his priorities would begin to shift. There his then girlfriend purchased him a microphone and Mani began recording religiously. By the summer of 2011 he had almost 100 songs recorded. Refusing to let anyone but close friends and family hear his work, Mani's brother gave him the ultimate push by swiping his hard drive and creating a stream page. From then on there was absolutely no escaping it. The universe began to see that the proper canvas be presented for this traditional artist. Forming a bond with two other artists whose production styles are unlike anything, yet so familiar. Mani was provided the tools to be heard. Wanting to stand tall in a generation that so many were fleeing from, Producers NGHTSHFT out of Reno and Frank Bera out of Sacramento would provide the sound that would allow for Mani to Stand UP In The Truth.

Stay tuned for the revolution
