Ken Khristian memorial benefit feat members of The Other Stones & Unauthorized Rolling Stones
The local music community lost some of its spirit with the recent passing of Ken Khristian (Kenneth Albert Krogstad), the guitarist for The Unauthorized Rolling Stones and The Other Stones.
A memorial concert for Khristian has been set for Wednesday, Nov. 6 with doors opening at 7 p.m. at 19 Broadway Niteclub at 17 Broadway Blvd. in Fairfax.
Khristian, 63, a resident of Sebastopol, passed unexpectedly Sept. 26th. Friends and fans will gather in an appropriate musical tribute. There will be no cover, but contributions will be accepted for The Ken Khristian Scholarship Fund for Music. There will also be a silent auction.
The event will include a video of the popular guitarist with photos and more. The Ken Khristian Band will perform at 7:30 p.m., featuring some of Khristian’s own songs, which have never been released, including: What Love Can Do and Heartbreaker with vocals by Christopher Perry.
Alicia Perrone and Victor James, from the Las Vegas-based band Fans of Jimmy Century, will join the band to sing Under the Milky Way and Purple Rain in memory of their friend.
Khristian was a member of two Rolling Stones tribute bands: The Unauthorized Rolling Stones and The Other Stones. Members of both bands will go on at 9 p.m. featuring vocalists Rudy Colombini and Johnny Moroko performing tunes such as Angie, Jumpin Jack Flash and Brown Sugar. Colombini will sing the song Take Me Home, written by him and Khristian.
