The Besnard Lakes

The Besnard Lakes' Until in Excess, Imperceptible UFO had its humble beginnings in mid-2011 and was completed over the course of a year. Ever mindful and attentive to the most subtle and nuanced details, founding band members Jace Lasek and Olga Goreas produced, recorded and mixed at the stalwart Breakglass Studios in Montreal. Eventually mastered by the renowned Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound, this fourth album by The Besnard Lakes' features heavyweight additions by Moonface's Spencer Krug and Mike Bigelow, The Barr Brothers' Sarah Page, the always-enchanting Monica Guenter and the return of Fifth String Liberation Singers' Choir.

The story of the album unfolds its introspection on the endurance of the human spirit during prophetic times as told by a spy or two, maybe more. Each of the eight tracks on the album takes off, coasts, and lands smoothly, with a jubilant slowburn of its own momentum for the benefit of the larger picture. The Besnard Lakes create a distinct and dreamy headspace, an enigmatic and somehow familiar placelessness. It happens in such a way that both the close and casual listener find themselves immersed in the generous sonic vision, one moment as timeless as the next.

Phantom Lakes

Phantom Lakes is an American indie rock band from Austin, TX, formed in the summer of 2012. The group consists of Jeremy Cruz (drums), Joel Ganucheau (vocals, guitars, samples), Joe Salinas (bass guitar) and Tyson J Swindell (guitars). They fall stylistically somewhere in between Fugazi and Sigur Ros, with clear post-punk, post-rock and pop elements.

Phantom Lakes plays extensively across Texas’s major markets, and in 2013 have been invited to appear at Chaos in Tejas and Fun Fun Fun Fest Nites. They've shared billing with such bands as DIIV, The Appleseed Cast, Pelican, True Widow, The Fall of Troy, Whirr, and The Life and Times.

Their first EP release, "Half-Light", is coming November 2013. Recorded with Travis Bonner at The Diamond Factory in Austin, TX, "Half-Light" will be self-released by the band in digital and CD format, while the Austin cassette-tape-exclusive label Better Days Will Haunt You will be releasing the tape version.

Past projects from the guys include (but are not limited to): Kissing Chaos, Pack of Wolves, Pop Unknown, Canoe, Pushmen, PanAmerican Standard, Svengali and Games and Theory.

My Education

Since forming in 1999, the membership of My Education has expanded and contracted while their sonic landscapes have grown with each release - 5 full length albums, several singles, compilation appearances, and a 12" vinyl collaboration with avant-hip hop duo Dalek. Recordings have been remixed by members of bands Kinski, Pelican, the Red Sparrowes and Dalek. Albums include 5 Popes, Italian, Moody Dipper, Bad Vibrations and the latest - Sunrise - out on Strange Attractors Audio House in the USA & Canada.

Sunrise, a new album of pieces from their original score for F.W. Murnau's 1927 silent masterpiece "Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans", finds the band in peak form . Having perfected the material with live film performances over the last two years with sold out shows across the USA, My Education has captured 40 plus minutes of a soundtrack to the long dark night of the soul. Sunrise is an aural experience that is original and unique. This soundtrack finds parallels with the soundscapes Popol Vuh created for Werner Herzog's films. All told, this is their most diverse and mature release to date.

Several tours throughout the country have kept fans abuzz with My Education's unique blend of drones and tones. The music of My Education takes you on a journey of mischief & mayhem - from sunset to Sunrise.
