Sara Melson, Lee Koch (closing set)

Sara Melson

From the moment that Sara Melson quietly yet confidently takes the microphone, the audience creeps closer, gets comfy, and the room goes eerily silent but for her unique, distinctive voice. The refreshing thing about that voice, stirring and true, is that it is solely her own, and stands out from the rest of the herd with its almost uncomfortably authentic power. She also has something to say, with insightful, spiritual (and sometimes naughty) lyrics, hooky melodies that haunt your brain for days afterwards, and timeless songs that blur boundaries between folk, rock, pop, and country in the vein of Carole King and Dolly Parton. With the release of her first record (Dirty Mind, Nettwerk 2008) Yahoo! Music chose her as their "New Buzz Artist," calling her "one of the most fearless singer-songwriters on the planet."

The Beachwood Canyon Sessions EP and a second full-length record, A Million White Stars, both independently released, followed in 2013; both were selected for iTunes features. Her songs have been featured in numerous film & TV shows, including Grey's Anatomy, and as the theme of a recent Chevy campaign.

Sara has shared the stage with Ben Folds, Juliana Hatfield, Ben Lee, Silversun Pickups, Jill Sobule, Inara George, Neil Halstead, Lissie, West Indian Girl, and the BRMC, among others. She's sung backing vocals for Mojave 3 and the Dandy Warhols on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic and for Moby on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Sara's self-produced debut full-length, Dirty Mind (Nettwerk Records, 2008) was selected for an iTunes "What's Hot" feature, and placed high on the iTunes pop chart. Her songs have been featured in numerous film & TV shows, including Grey's Anatomy, and as the theme of a recent Chevy campaign. Sara's recently released EP, The Beachwood Canyon Sessions, was also selected for an iTunes feature.

Lee Koch (closing set)

In 2009 Lee Koch self-funded his first recording, Same As Blood, collaborating with a group of musicians and producer Jesse Siebenberg. Same As Blood bottled the energy of Lee's live show. He became a fixture at local Ventura venues, headlining shows and opening for acts like Greg Allman and The White Buffalo. People that see Lee live try to explain their natural attraction to his performance. It's a kind of electricity. You believe what he's singing. His energy is captivating and refreshing. His live performances are known to lift up, shake down, and send you off with a new voice in your head.

After a short run on the musical competition TV show, The Voice, Lee and his wife Nicole hit the road for the next adventure. These days you'll find them traveling around being "free from misery" and sharing his music with the world.

Glen Martin

Glen Martin transports us to a place where music has meaning. His songs resonate with feelings of nostalgia for the 50's and 60's songwriter boom. He digs deep and draws from personal experiences, offering us lyrics which are raw and relatable. Hailing from the scenic Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Glen relocated to Los Angeles to refine his musicality and technical ability. He spends every unoccupied moment listening to records, studying every note rung out from each instrument. He learns by ear and applies his knowledge to every instrument he can get his hands on. With influences ranging from Hank Williams, Neil Young, Bob Dylan and Paul Simon to James Mercer, M. Ward and Jeff Mangum, you could classify Glen Martin's songs as a combination of Americana, indie and folk. However, don't allow your expectations to be restricted by the confines of genres upon first listen. Even close friends learn more about this whiskey-drinkin' music man through his lyrics. Allow the songs to wash over your skin and warm your soul like the sun on a winter day. Repeat.
