New Year World Rock Festival 2013 - NEW YORK featuring:

New Year World Rock Festival is the longest running music television programme in the world and is a concert filmed simultaneously in London, Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing and New York showcasing the best musical talent in each city. This year has a startling line-up from start to finish featuring the raw adrenalised punk of Hunters, the bombastic girl rock of Teen and the Kurt Vile style runnings of Carpark records new signings Free Time, not too mention some very special secret guests headlining this night full of headliners.

Top DJs from London, NYC and Tokyo will also be in attendance to round up the night of the wildest live music TV show on earth.

All profits from the night will go to support the recent Tsunami and Fukoshima disasters in Japan.

Skaters formed in late 2011 after Singer Michael Cummings and Noah Rubin spent a year trading demos back and forth from Los Angeles to London with Guitarist Joshua Hubbard. The three met in the middle to record an EP in a Manhattan loft, and never left the city. The result is a smart, dynamic punk record drawing inspiration from obscure genres and cultures. And, a live band featuring a rotating cast of young energetic musicians and veterans of the Boston and NYC music scenes.

The Schemers EP can be downloaded on their website for free.

Equal parts Motorhead, Sonic Youth and maybe the early Misfits, Hunters boast an aggressive, raw style of punk. Since February, they've been rising through the ranks, thanks to a 2-song offering mixed by Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs).

Teen are an all female quartet led by "Teenie Lieberson" who are making a stir with their punchy psyche sound. They will be following up their acclaimed Doodz E.P with their Spaceman 3 produced debut album " In Limbo" which is out on Carpark records this fall. Their absolutely on point blend of post-punk and girl group stylings have led them to be touring recently with Ariel Pink.

Freetime led by Dion Nania, have been put together a group from members of cult groups Scott and Charlene's Wedding, Real Estate and Twerps. They make a fresh tangling guitar jangle that will instantly appeal to fans of Kurt Vile or The War on Drugs. Their their bitter sweet melodies and slanted lyrics have led to them being signed by the tastemaker Underwater Peoples label (Ducktails / Spectrals / Ice Choir.)

DJ VAPERS (London, UK)

King of the Hackney Warehouse scene, fresh from gigs with the likes of Traficante, SBTRKT, Paul Epworth, Gold Future Joy Machine, Man Like Me and The Near Death Experience, will be leading a representation of DJs from London and Tokyo playing future beats and London Classics.
