Queen Plz is a scientist, a feminist, a dirty south enthusiast. Her art is inseparable from her politics, and her DJ sets will take you on a meandering journey from the rapid fire of the New York ballroom scene to the slow southern drawl of UGK. She aims to move you, in one way or another, so close your eyes, drop your inhibitions, and follow the night where it leads you."

Queen Plz has been throwing parties in the triangle area for almost five years. She is one of the original founders and resident djs of the monthly Illegal parties at The Pinhook in Durham, as well as holding it down for the queer party scene on a regular basis. She has opened for Jubilee, Lief, Mykki Blanco, TT the Artist, and Mighty Mark.

Her mixtape "First Amendment Area" is a recent winner of the "Bull City in The Mix" local mixtape competition.

Party Illegal’s PlayPlay is one of Durham's busiest DJs, and along with their high-energy DJ sets, PlayPlay has embarked on a new project. They are now performing their original music out live using a new hardware setup consisting of a sampler, sequencer, drum machine, and Moog synthesizer. Playplay’s sound is heavily influenced by the early jungle, Baltimore club, & acid house that they already weave in their DJ sets, & they are stoked to be sharing their own improvisational material with everyone.

PlayPlay has shared stages with Big Freedia, MC Lyte, TT the Artist, Dai Burger, Abdu Ali, Le1f, Double Duchess, MikeQ, Nadus, Jubilee, Cakes Da Killa and others. They are also the creator and energetic force behind several themed parties, including a long-running 90's party, an industrial/goth night and a ladies of the 80's party. This summer, PlayPlay plans on putting the focus on music production, and will be releasing their first EP in the fall.
