Robin Thicke

Born in Los Angeles, Robin taught himself to play piano at the age of 12 and by 16 was writing and producing songs for artists like Brandy, Color Me Badd, and Brian McKnight. By the age of 21, he had written and produced songs on over 20 gold and platinum albums including Michael Jackson, Marc Anthony, Pink, Christina Aguilera and others.

One year later he signed with Jimmy Iovine and Interscope records. Soon after he met André Harrell (former CEO of Uptown Records and mentor to Mary J. Blige, Sean “Puffy” Combs and countless others). It didn’t take much time for Robin to realize he found the creative partner he needed to make A Beautiful World, his critically acclaimed debut album released in 2003 under the name “Thicke.” After A Beautiful World, Thicke continued to work hard and went on to write and produce songs for Usher’s Grammy winning album Confessions, Lil’ Wayne’s The Carter 2, and Mary J Blige.

Soon after Thicke came out with his breakthrough second release, 2006’s The Evolution Of Robin Thicke. Now on the way to double platinum status, Evolution’s mega hit “Lost Without U” became the #1 most played song in Urban Adult Contemporary BDS and topped four Billboard charts simultaneously: #1 R&B /Hip Hop album, #1 Hot R&B / Hip Hop song, #1 Hot R&B Hip Hop Airplay, and #1 Hot Adult R&B Airplay. Robin established himself as one of the most respected singer-songwriters in soul and R&B music today. In the summer of 2007 he toured with Beyonce and appeared on Oprah twice.

The year 2007 concluded with the VH1 Soul/Vibe award for “Best Breakthrough Artist” and nominations from BET (“Best Male R&B” and “Viewer’s Choice”), Soul Train (“Best R&B Soul Album, Male”), MTV VMA (“Male Artist of the Year”), MOBO (Best Song, “Lost Without U”), the American Music Awards (“Favorite Breakthrough Artist”) and was named ASCAP’s Song of the Year for “Lost Without You.”

The award-winning multiplatinum superstar returned to center stage in 2008 with Something Else, a joyful and modern tribute to the ‘70s soul and pop records that have inspired an extraordinary career. Revered by critics as one of the best soul albums in years, this ‘70s-inspired album dealt with racism, poverty, and love in the hits “Dreamworld,” “Magic,” and “The Sweetest Love.” The album is aptly titled. Debuting at #3 on The Billboard 200, Something Else is Thicke’s highest charted album to date. Thicke obtained yet another top 10 hit single with “Magic” hitting #2 on the urban charts. The closing song, “Tie My Hands” was a favorite of Lil Wayne’s and he put it on his record- breaking album, The Carter 3. They performed the song together at The 2009 Grammys, soon after he toured with Mary J. Blige.

In December of 2009 Robin released Sex Therapy, an album that created a fantasy world of eroticism, while still dealing with the honest struggle a man has with seduction, loneliness and betrayal. The title song, “Sex Therapy,” was hailed by critics as “the sexiest song of the year” and went on to be #1 on the R&B/ Hip Hop charts and also won an ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Award.

Robin’s fifth studio album, Love After War was released on December 6th, 2011. The first single from the album, the title track “Love After War,” quickly went to #1 on Urban AC and stayed at the top for 2 weeks. The Associated Press called Love After War a “must buy,” Billboard exclaimed “Thicke has consistently shown himself to be one of R&B’s most devoted ladies’ men” and Entertainment Weekly called the album “ever-seductive.” The album is Thicke at his most raw and honest condition yet. It is an album born out of a desire to be the uncompromising, idealistic artist he was as a boy, married with the weight of being a man with responsibilities and the scars of the past. Love After War and songs you’ll discover within it, like “An Angel on Each Arm,” ”I’m An Animal,” “Never Give Up,” “Cloud 9,” ”Pretty Lil’ Heart” and “Tears On My Tuxedo” need no explanation: they speak for themselves. Robin believes a song can be whatever the listener wants it to be. The reasons and decisions that lead him to write his songs are not important; what matters most is how they make the listener feel. Robin is as faithful to his fans as they are to him. His ultimate desire is to entertain the listener… to move them… to inspire them… to make them love more.

Robin was part of the first season of ABC’s debut reality singing series “Duets,” which premiered on May 24th, 2012. Robin served as a show “Superstar” alongside Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Jennifer Nettles. Next up for Robin is his film debut; he shot an independent film “Abby in the Summer” where he worked alongside Jaime Pressly, Joey Lauren Adams, and Frances Conroy.

Anyone whose had the pleasure of knowing singer, business woman, songwriter pianist, reality television star and Memphis native, K. Michelle since her childhood is aware that she was destined to be the woman she is today. Gymnastic, swimming and piano courses kept her inquisitive spirit busy until age nine, when the time arrived for her to begin vocal lessons with renowned children’s vocal coach Bob Westbrook (Justin Timberlake, Brittany Spears etc). A lifelong affinity for country music (The Judds are a personal favorite), lead to Michelle earning a scholarship to Florida A&M for yodeling.

With Michelle’s second and final season of L&HHA’s beginning this spring, it couldn’t be a more fitting time for the release of her debut album, Rebellious Soul. For the millions of fans who have watched the no-nonsense cutie fight for what she feels is right on television every week, her album title is most apropos. “I’m a rebel, a firecracker,” she tells. “I do what I want to do. My music is like that as well. I rebel against anything that society tries to use to keep us boxed in––racism, judgment, anything that makes you feel inferior as a woman.” The result is what she describes as an “old-school” but “aggressive and urgent” music feel. Expect the guest list of vocalists to include Elle Varner and Michelle’s mentor R. Kelly, who will also embrace some maestro duties.

After years of professional and personal lows but mostly highs, it’s time for the once diamond in the rough to be recognized for the true gem that she is. The stars are aligning for Tennessee’s daughter, and she couldn’t be more pleased. “I’m really at a point in my life where I wanna work on myself and just be happy,” she says. “I don’t want any drama. I just want to create that music that makes you feel so so good."

When a fifth grader named Cassidy Durango Milton Willy Podell asked his parents to buy him turntables and a mixer for his tenth birthday, DJ Cassidy was born. Today, Cassidy is simply the most sought-after deejay in his industry. An icon in music, fashion, media, and nightlife, Cassidy’s notoriety, respect, and demand are unparalleled.

DJ Cassidy has always strived to be undefined, a deejay sought after to play all music, for all people, all over the world. After rocking renowned parties for nearly two-thirds of his life, Cassidy will be releasing his debut album on Columbia Records in late 2013. The record is the culmination of a lifetime of deejaying around the globe, observing people react, and making people move. “I set out on a mission to bring the greatest and most universal dance music of all time back to the airwaves, back to nightlife, back to the dance floor,” declares the maestro. To achieve his mission, Cassidy united the most legendary musicians from the late 1970s and early 1980s together for the first time in over thirty years to recreate the sound of their prolific era using no covers, no interpolations, and no samples. Then, Cassidy recruited an astoundingly eclectic roster of esteemed recording artists from his era to write and record original songs. The result is an epic opus of celebration whose inescapable rhythm and explosive spirit moves every body within its reach. DJ Cassidy recently debuted select songs from his album while opening for Jay Z and Justin Timberlake on their summer 2013 Legends Of The Summer stadium tour and while acting as the one-man-house-band for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.

As a young child, Cassidy idolized Hip Hop Pioneers Kool Herc, Afrika Bambaataa and Grandmaster Flash. While many of his peers expressed their love of Hip Hop through the disdain of other musical genres, Cassidy expressed his by embracing all of the culture’s vast musical influences. To emulate his heroes, he knew he had to play like his heroes. Cassidy studied the back of every record cover, learning who wrote and produced his favorite songs, as well as where and how they were created. He became fascinated with the interconnectedness of the music world. One record led the youngster to the next. A student he was, a party-motivator he was about to become.

Cassidy turned his childhood passion into a job during elementary and junior high school in New York City. These early years were both formative and limiting, as they provided him with definitive experience, but narrow audiences. Cassidy’s first big break in nightlife came in the summer of 1999 when he landed weekly gigs at several New York City hotspots. That fall, Cassidy attended George Washington University in Washington DC. He commuted home each weekend to maintain the club residencies and soon transferred to New York University where he graduated in 2003 with a major in sociology. In the summer of 2000, DJ Cassidy began a three-year stint at West Village nightclub, Halo. With the teenage deejay at its helm, Sunday nights at Halo grew to be a world-renowned party and fixture in New York City nightlife, attracting many celebrity regulars including Sean “Diddy” Combs. Diddy soon began hiring Cassidy for all of his well-known events including his MTV Video Music Award parties, Grammy parties, fashion shows, and White Parties in The Hamptons.

DJ Cassidy’s personal clientele quickly grew and now reads like a who’s-who of iconic figures. That list includes President Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Russell Simmons, LA Reid, Anna Wintour, LeBron James, Jerry Seinfeld, Vera Wang, Tory Burch, Tommy Hilfiger, Patricia Field, Tina Turner, Tyler Perry, Alicia Keys, Mary J. In 2009, DJ Cassidy was called on to perform for President Barack Obama. In addition to deejaying live at one of the President’s ten Inaugural Balls, Cassidy programmed the music for all of the other nine balls. Later that year, Cassidy played at the Democratic National Committee’s “Welcome Home To Chicago” event for The President. In 2011, Cassidy performed at President Obama’s fiftieth birthday party in The White House. In September 2012, Cassidy acted as the musical supervisor and one-man-house-band for the Democratic National Convention. During the President’s 2012 campaign, Barack Obama’s campaign office enlisted Cassidy to create and lead DJs For Obama, a group of influential deejays who would contribute meaningfully to the re-election campaign. Once elected, President Obama called on Cassidy again, this time to perform at The White House on the night of his second Inauguration.

DJ Cassidy routinely performs for many industry-leading brands including Louis Vuitton, Victoria’s Secret, Hugo Boss, Nike, The Gap, Lacoste, Audemars Piguet, MTV, BET, Sports Illustrated, Billboard, Rolling Stone, and Vogue. DJ Cassidy’s New York City birthday parties have taken on legendary status and have become widely regarded as the party-of-the-year in the music industry. Fresh, Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane, Naughty By Nature, Nice ‘N Smooth, KRS-One, Rakim, Q-Tip, Bell Biv Devoe, and Bobby Brown to surprise his guests. In 2009, Cassidy hosted his birthday at the New York Public Library and, in 2011, he hosted the party at the Intrepid Sea, Air, & Space Museum where he reunited all six members of pivotal R&B group, New Edition.

DJ Cassidy has gained worldwide acclaim for electrifying crowds through his unique capacity to effortlessly blend musical genre no matter the crowd or setting. His fans rely on him to capture sounds that are hot and cutting-edge, but also those that are classic and timeless. Drawing on all forms of music, DJ Cassidy continues to astound audiences with his uncanny ability to connect to everyone within his reach.
