Hoots & Hellmouth

Hoots & Hellmouth

Hoots & Hellmouth have a lot of nerve.

Eight years in, this Philadelphia outfit has taken its blend of
soulful roots music to every corner of these United States.
Relentlessly spinning their wheels and leaving their hearts on
whatever stage happens to welcome them, these guys have been there and
done that.

Eight years in and they still hunger for more.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled.

We’ve got some big ideas.

Outside Eyes

Birthed in a sweaty West Philadelphia Victorian, the Outside Eyes are old friends, former roommates, neighbors and conspirators, bringing a fullness to frontman Zach Eggelston’s songs. Sleepily glowing melodies recall Roy Orbison, Elvis Costello, and T-Rex with lyrics both poignant and playful. Veteran player Todd Erk, (Hoots and Hellmouth, Birdie Busch, Auctioneer, Divers) relegated to the bass for many years, takes on two more strings ringing out brave new guitar riffs. Rachel Crowley on the skins keeps the beat solid with subterranean grooves from bassist Joshua Lennon allowing space for the songs to take hold.
Eggleston has been writing and performing music for the better part of 15 years often as a solo artist and infrequently banded together with fellow musicians for short lived romps with recent bands, Ocean City Maryland and The Last Minutes. Together the Outside Eyes back up and interpret Eggleston’s unique song writing with bombastic aplomb, from the creepy, psychedelic singalong Dance Party From Hell, to the sweet, folky, harmonies of Foot Tapping.
Since debuting in March of 2013 the Outside Eyes seen have been seen playing frequently around the Philadelphia area. They recently returned to Philadelphia after embarking on their first tour which took them out to the west coast. A debut album is in the works.
