PCA is a nonprofit that provides a one-stop shop where victims of child sexual abuse go to experience a kid friendly environment, receive victim support services and talk to highly specialized forensic interviewers who coordinate with DHS, Philadelphia Special Victims Unit (SVU), and the DA’s office so the child doesn’t have to re-live what happened to them by re-telling each individual agency. All proceeds from the album and concert will benefit PCA.
In addition to musical performances, representatives from Philadelphia Weekly’s, “The Survivors Project” will read excerpts from their personal stories which detail surviving sexual abuse.
On the heels of 2014's "Song Machine" which garnered solid Triple A radio airplay on 88.5 WXPN and Sirius XM's "The Loft" as well as critical praise from Goldmine magazine, Phoenixville PA songwriter Cliff Hillis has released his latest EP, "Love Not War" on the San Francisco indie label Tallboy Records.
The title track "Love Not War" gives a nod to the sound and sentiment of 1970's era FM radio while sounding fresh and new, courtesy of the lush musical backing of Patrick Berkery on drums (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Pernice Brothers, Wesley Stace), Jason Loughlin on guitar (Amos Lee, Rachel Yamagata), Greg Maragos on bass and keyboards, Shelley Weiss on violin and David Kershner on trumpet.
In support of the EP's release Hillis has been performing a number of East Coast shows and pursuing a targeted Triple A radio campaign.
Hillis' work has recently garnered praise from notable songwriters:
"Cliff is taking some chances while also delivering some solid pop production, the stuff you'd expect from a big fan of big pop. it's a blast to listen to." - Mike Viola, acclaimed recording artist, producer, and composer
"You know who's really good? Cliff Hillis." - Rhett Miller, singer/songwriter, Old '97s
The Caulfields, led by John Faye, was an alternative rock band which recorded two albums for A&M records in the 90's. They reunited to record a new version "Atlas Daughter" for the Movin' On CD and are reuniting again for this special benefit concert!
Messages of hope embedded in emotionally driven rock...
Much like Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom and sponsor of the arts from whom they take their name, Peg and Kevin combine both their passion for music with a desire to inspire and heal others.
Singer/songwriter Lauren Hart is best known for her introspective lyrics and soaring vocals, and for her connection to the Philadelphia Flyers. The daughter of legendary NHL Hall of Fame Announcer Gene Hart, known for 30 years as “The Voice of the Flyers,” Lauren sings the National Anthem before every Philadelphia Flyers home game, the musical “voice” of the Flyers. She is also the former host of the NBC news and variety show 10!. She has performed for Bill Clinton and Frank Sinatra, and her music has been featured in several television series including “Joan of Arcadia,” “Party of Five,” and “All My Children.” Lauren’s National Anthem appears on the soundtrack of the Disney film “Miracle,” and she recently recorded “America the Beautiful” for the soon to be released documentary film “When Jane & Johnny Come Marching Homeless.” Lauren wrote the soundtrack for the award winning documentary “Race to the Bottom of the Earth” and is writing all the music for the new television show DANGEROUS GROUNDS. A member of the Board of Governors of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (Grammy Awards) and previous Philadelphia Vice President, Lauren released her sixth CD, an EP titled "AWAKENING“, in April 2013. Her passion for music is matched only by her passion for the charitable organizations she is committed to – the Gene Hart Memorial Fund, Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation, Echoes Foundation in Uganda, and Wide Horizons for Children.
