Jon Dadon, J Boogie, DeeJay Theory

Despite their parents’ pressures to pursue more conventional career paths, Jon Dadon aka DADON and his youngest brother David couldn’t resist sticking to their passion. David is a recording and mastering engineer in L.A. and Jon is, well, a DJ, a producer, the founder of Music Is 4 Lovers and a co-founder of Lovelife. From jazz to hip-hop and rock, it wasn’t until college that Jon began to dip his toes into the ocean of electronic music where he would soon be immersed. As he hit 21, he started making his way to as many shows as he could – about 2 or 3 per week.

In the summer of 2011, Dadon and Jimbo James combined forces to take a risk and sprinkle a little love on the San Diego nightlife scene. Tired of commercial music and predictable parties, Dadon and James launched Lovelife, a promotion company founded on the principles of progressive music, community, and most importantly, love. They have nurtured a scene in the city, one that would house the ‘Lovers’ that have inevitably grown to be considered family.

Now Jon's career as a DJ has been taking off considerably fast as he has proven to be able to get down with some of the best. This summer alone he has played several venues across Europe and is now back from his travels. So let's show some love for the guy who has been bringing nothing but love and innovative music, cultivating a scene in San Diego that us San Francisco house heads can appreciate as well.

San Francisco resident DJ/producer J-Boogie has challenged the boundaries of music across genres, styles, languages and borders throughout his 20 year career. "I play music made by people that moves them. In return it moves me & I transmit that groove to you in my own way. Recently I started making my own music. I have a few releases out, but am only getting started on the production side of things. Music for me is an emotional journey and I enjoy every moment of it." -Buck

Papa Lu

Born and raised in the San Francisco, Bay Area, Ca. Papa Lu had the chance to absorb all styles of music from Hip Hop to house as an adolescent. His first passion was with Hip Hop. As soon as he graduated from High School he dove right into the business of throwing Hip Hop shows at a venue called The DNA Lounge. He worked with some of the most classic artists of the true school era like Digable Planets, Digital Underground, Gang Starr, Kool Keith, Dj QBert, Grand Wizord Theordore, and many more. During that time period several house music pioneers like Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, Dj Sneak, Heather, Colette, etc were making their waves at that same venue and that’s where Papa Lu had learned to love house music. Becoming a house music aficionado Papa Lu had then decided to make the transition into producing quality house music events. He still to this day produces a party named Night Moves at Monarch SF and other events as well at a few of the other fine established clubs of San Francisco. He’s worked with artists such as Danny Daze, Jimmy Edgar, Dennis Ferrer, Poolside, Amine Edge & Dance, Doctor Dru, Walker & Royce, Lazaro Casanova, Claptone, Juan MacLean, Fur Coat, Crazy P, Noir, Moon Boots, John Tejada, J Boogie, Deejay Theory, Pacific Disco, etc. In the process of becoming deeply involved and passionate with finding new cutting edge artists to book Papa Lu cultivated himself as a quality dj opening and closing for the artists named above and is now a commonly known dj in SF's house scene. For Papa Lu, his career as an innovative house dj has recently started and is budding well. His production with Bryan Boogie (LifeSF/ 2nd Sunday) is in progress and is anticipated to gain solid traction.
