Terese Genecco & Her Little Big Band

Terese Genecco & Her Little Big Band

Terese Genecco & Her 8-piece Little Big Band throw a "Wild Party!" (The New York Times) and make "Every Show Seem Like New Year's Eve!" (The Wall Street Journal).

Known as "The Longest-Running Nightclub Act on Broadway," (with just under 100 performances in four and a half years of monthly engagements at The Iridium Jazz Club) powerhouse vocalist, bandleader, and comedian Terese Genecco swings by The Cutting Room for one rollicking 10pm set (following her 6-9pm performance in the Mabel Mercer Foundation's annual Cabaret Convention at Jazz @ Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall.)

Expect the unexpected. Over the years, Genecco has played host to many a special guest star from the Broadway Stage, Television, Film and Recording Arts including Lea DeLaria (currently starring in the Netflix Original Series "Orange Is The New Black"); Johnny Carson's favorite "Super Singer" The Marvelous Marilyn Maye; legendary singer/comedian Steve Rossi; Broadway-bound Klea Blackhurst; Broadway veterans Karen Mason, Nicolas King, Nina Hennessy, and
Quentin Earl Darrington; America's Got Talent Finalist Paul Safy, Jr.; Grammy-winners (for "Liza's At The Palace") Billy Stritch, Johnny Rodgers and Michael Berkowitz, plus Lew Soloff (Blood, Sweat, and Tears); and Emmy-nominated Daytime TV Star Ilene Kristin (Delia on Ryan's Hope, Roxy on All My Children,) among many more.

The cream of the crop of NYC cabaret and jazz vocalists/musicians also flock to Genecco's shows and often get a piece of the action during the proceedings including Shaynee Rainbolt, KJ Denhert, Ray DeForest, KT Sullivan, Marissa Mulder, Johnny Rodgers, Eric Comstock and Barbara Fasano, Karen Oberlin, Eric Michael Gillett, Todd Murray and more. You never know who will show up and sit in with Genecco and her 8-piece "little big band" of world-class musicians with "The Maestro" Barry Levitt at the piano. "The Wild Party" does indeed continue - this time at The Cutting Room!

"Infectious energy would be putting it mildly. It does get 'under your skin,' with the drug of choice being pulse-quickening music from the blazing musical performances of a dynamo named Terese Genecco… And the addiction grows. Check it out. Come to a meeting. My name is Rob Lester and I am a Geneccoholic." ~ NiteLifeExchange.com NYC

"Consistently one of the best shows in town! …If Keely Smith and Sammy Davis, Jr. had a love child, it would be Terese Genecco." ~CabaretHotlineOnline.com NYC

"How does one come up with more creative superlatives for this raging talent? From the moment the diminutive, spiky-haired brunette hits the stage she seems to transform into a larger-than-life entertainer. Terese has been called a "one-woman Rat Pack." Her version of Sammy Davis, Jr.'s "West Side Story Medley," with just drums and percussion backing her up, was a tour de force. And if Sinatra heard Terese deliver Bill Zeffiro's swinging new song "Universal Truth," he'd probably want to come back for a recording session. The most impressive thing about Terese Genecco is her obvious versatility, which is why her "Little Big Band" show could play to packed houses for years on Broadway or the Vegas Strip." ~Cabaret Scenes Magazine, NYC

"It's a gloomy world out there but with Terese Genecco & Her Little Big Band in the house, it's a whole lot brighter." ~Examiner.com (San Francisco)
