Alison Rice & The Ranch Hands, Copper & Coal, The Barn Burners

Alison Rice & The Ranch Hands

Alison Rice & The Ranch Hands is the new band built around the latest songs of singer Alison Rice, a longtime veteran of the Portland country music scene. Her latest CD, Red Horse Ranch, is Rice's strongest yet — a collection of 11 songs that sweep across the ears like a sweet breeze over the grasslands of eastern Oregon. Expertly produced in Portland by Rob Stroup, the CD serves as a showcase for Rice's gift for sharing stories of desperation, heartbreak, betrayal, love and loss, all with the intimate feel of family and home. Her new band features some of Portland's finest players, including keyboardist Hank Rasco (Oregon Music Hall of Fame), guitarist Ralph Thompson (Blue Moon Highway, Hamdogs) and steel and dobro star Jeff Porter (Riviera).

Copper & Coal

Country chanteuses Copper & Coal sit pretty in the classic country genre, covering golden greats such as Loretta Lynn, Buck Owens, and Hank Williams. They also deliver a shining set of original tunes and are set to release their debut album, produced by Portland’s King of Country Music Caleb Klauder, in June 2013. Soaring vocal harmonies, fiddle, and pedal steel beget a nostalgic sound that will have you laughing, dancing, drinking, and crying in true country style.

The Barn Burners

The Barn Burners is a collection of friends from different local rock bands who love to share good times and good country music, playing their favorite cover songs from 60s all the way to present. Songs from the likes of Del Reeves, Doug Sahm, Steve Earle, Gram Parsons and Tom Petty dot their setlist on any given night.
