SoulVent, Pushing the Sun

A New Beginning...For some, this means starting over. Sometimes it means stepping out of your comfort zone and taking a chance. Sometimes it means leaving everything and everyone you know and love behind. For the four guys of SoulVent, a new beginning means a fresh start...A new opportunity. A chance to return to the no holds barred type of rock music they grew up on, where they were able to escape the chaos around them and find peace in the music within them. Influenced heavily by rock and metal with a melodic twist, SoulVent is playing music of their soul and on their own terms. Blurring the lines of rock and classical, SoulVent has made a style truly all their own.

With an abundance of musical tastes and backgrounds ranging from classical to blues to metal and hardcore the band SoulVent shows no limitations with their writing ability and style. SoulVent is breaking the mold of today's rock, by staying true to themselves and not compromising. With a wide range of musical influences by bands such as Tool, Deftones, Alice in Chains and Nirvana, as well as Rush, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, the band mixes rock and metal together seamlessly with music created by the energies within an intensely emotional heart and soul, and lyrics that are intelligent and passionate with a definite social conscience. This is what sets this band apart.

After spending countless hours in the studio, SoulVent is preparing to continue their first chapter together. They are putting the finishing touches on some new songs and recording their first single with their debut full length CD to follow thereafter. They will be releasing it independently as a testament to all their hard work over the years. Prior to the CD's release the band is planning on playing shows, while also searching for a label to call home. So be ready and gear up for the melodic rock onslaught to begin!!

Pushing the Sun

"Melodic hard rock" — it's often used, and perhaps overused, term to describe music that's sonically heavy yet instantly memorable. For rock band Pushing the Sun, "melodic hard rock" means music in transition — constantly evolving and rich in dynamics.

"We really enjoy bringing the tones down to super-clean and then back up to roaring walls of distortion and driving beats," says guitarist/songwriter/founder Billy Connally. "We don't ever want to become too predictable or be a band that only has one sound. Finding that perfect balance of musicianship and songwriting has always been my passion. Just because I can 'shred' on guitar doesn't mean I need to do it all the time. Melody, groove and atmosphere are more important to me."

26 Miles Per Hour, is a high energy hard-rock band hailing from Petaluma Ca, just minutes north of the San Francisco bay area. The band recently regrouped in July 2009. Since the band's inception in 1995, 26MPH has gone through various incarnations with now original member's Eric and Adam Nettleton reigniting the fire which is 26MPH! Drummer, Kevin Fitzgerald and Bass player Mike Chavez have added to the completion of the most complex offering of explosive, and passionate melodic sounds the band has ever created. 26MPH originally started off with a more Punk, Grunge sound, but since has progressed into a heavy juggernaut that incorporates the intensity of metal and hardcore styles, while maintaining quite an array of melodic melodies and punk influences. The band has played shows spanning the Nor-Cal region, and has shared the stage with such national acts as: Papa Roach, Alien Ant Farm, Halestorm, Adelitas Way, Will Haven, Hoods, Sevendust, Kittie, Kotton Mouth Kings, Murder Dolls, Will Haven, Agent Orange, Sprung Monkey... 26MPH's discography is two past DIY full-length LP's "Apathy" and "Walk Alone." Their "Redefine" LP was released off Popsmear Records (The Action Design, Picture Me Broken, Love Equals Death) "Redefine" incorporates a mix of hard-edge influences and is rated one the bands heaviest to date. The band is currently touring the Nor-Cal area in support of their most recent LP "American Nightmare." With 26MPH's driving hard work ethic and support for the local music scene you will no doubt be hearing about the band 26 Miles Per Hour soon!
