Up Until Now
815 V St. NW
Washington, DC, 20001
Having built a massive fanbase over the years, Lotus tours heavily selling out headline shows across the county and playing festivals such as Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Ultra, and more. Whether you catch Lotus in outdoor amphitheaters, the country’s best theaters, intimate clubs or a variety of festivals, you can expect to have an experience of the senses. The band's new album, Eat the Light, is a first for Lotus - an album with vocals on every song. Guest singers appear throughout ranging from soulful to indie and electronic to rock. The tracks bubble with contagious dance energy and blast into orbit with sing-along choruses. The tightly produced yet raw grooves recall sounds of The Talking Heads, Jamiroquai, and LCD Soundsystem.
Up Until Now
Jay Murphy of Up Until Now has so far lived his life completely centered and orbiting around music. He comes from a collective past involved in bands with genres of reggae, world beat, rock, hip hop, funk, electro-pop,and even heavy metal. With this project, he distills the pure essence in music that has always driven him, and channels it into electronic dance music with the sole purpose of making bodies move. When you get talent of this type with huge broad experience, and focus it into one vision, you best believe that it burns like a laser. Now, add human drumming machine Kyle Holly from jamtronica band Noise[Org], and you have a serious live electronic force to be reckoned with.
Since playing his first show in early 2010, Up Until Now has performed across the country from Portland, OR to Jacksonville, FL, from New York City to Austin, TX. He has been blessed to share the stage with such acts as Snoop Dogg, STS9, Big Gigantic, The New Deal, Bonobo, Two Fresh, and Emancipator just to name a few. In the summer of 2011 he was featured at some of the top music festivals in the country such as Camp Bisco X, Regeneration Music and Arts Festival, and Blackwater Music Festival. With the momentum Up Until Now has built in 2011, 2012 is sure to be a huge year. Keep an eye out for UUN coming to your town real soon.
