Lora Faye’s songs live in an art rock soundscape with a backbeat, lyrically quick and boldly performed. Her writing is both blues-inflected and brashly progressive, like an archive from some historical American future.

The singer and multi-instrumentalist composes for a core ensemble of versatile and visionary musicians whose collaborative arrangements are built to highlight the diverse, pointed perspectives of each member (Nick Lerman, electric guitar, Julia Adamy, bass, Ross Pederson, drums, Danny Fisher-Lochhead, alto saxophone). The hauntingly resonant relationship between Lora Faye’s voice and that of her second vocalist, Rachel Brotman, in particular, deepens what is already a textured and forceful vocal expanse.

A Brooklyn native, Lora Faye has headlined such local stages as Lincoln Center and Joe’s Pub, as well as appearing live with her band on NPR’s Mountain Stage. The past few years have awarded her a handful of prestigious songwriting awards, and she continues to be recognized as an emerging and innovative talent in her genre-bending landscape.
