Suspicious Beasts, Needle Points

Growing up in the bucolic waterfront village of Northport, NY, Chuck Betz, Ryan Naideau and Jimmy Shelton played punk rock together since high school, in a succession of bands more than happy to set up at any house party, BBQ or makeshift venue that would have them. The familiar strain of classic rock is the go-to sound on the North Shore of Long Island, but they lived in an alternate universe where Ryan convinced his parents to let him turn the family basement into an occasional all-ages show space, hosting touring groups, and rounding out the bill with whatever band he and his friends were in at the time. By 2008 the boys had based themselves in Brooklyn and Nude Beach was born; the group slowly integrated themselves into the local DIY community, performing in dive bars and warehouse lofts, often several times a week, playing more than 100 shows in less than four years together.
"WHERE DO YOU REALLY WANT TO GO?" Some of us have a need to pack up and jump in any direction. Some of us want to run to the past. Suspicious Beasts seem to know which way and when they are heading. Formed by Brooklyn resident / Japanese expatriate Yusuke Okada (Golden Clouds, Blotto) back in his hometown of Tokyo in 2010, Suspicious Beasts throw some real fucking fresh kindling onto the never-ending-but-always-cooling-down campfire of modern psychey-garage rock. With influences from The Outsiders, Love, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Alex Chilton, and more, The Beasts BEAT. They jam. They drive. They get fucked up and someone steals their shirts. They get dark. They wanna fly to the moon, but first, they're doing it in America. -Cory Feierman
An experiment in street level boogie. Their energy on both stage and tape...will mystify your body, tickle your fancy, and breathe sweet breath into your chakra. Hailing from Philadelphia, they are a far out expression in stripped down magic. With jangly riffs, tribal beats, and fuzzy tones. They are Needle Points.
