After hearing the song "Juicy" by the Notorious B.I.G., he was hooked! As the son of a military officer, his family moved to and settled in California. It was around this time when his inherent passion for Hip Hop had developed. He was influenced by his father, who also pursued a Rap career in the 1990s, then known as BlackIce. Since A-Hi was 9 years old, he set on a path of his own into the world of Hip Hop. From starting a group with his best friend, to performing at talent shows at school. In high school, he focused on DJ'ing, spinning at local parties on the weekends. Through experiencing these various elements, his love for MC-ing grew deeper. By 2004, A-Hi began attending college at the University of San Francisco. While in his Sophomore year he met Joseph Crisol, who was an aspiring producer. A-Hi was also introduced to Tony Try and the Bay Area Hip Hop crew, Disciples of Rhythm (DOR). Bboying, Graphing, MC-ing and DJing, they covered all aspects of the culture. Over the years, they would each write and produce together as a brotherhood. Performing all over the Bay, this group of friends shared their passion.
