Josh Heinrichs, was the former lead singer and songwriter of the reggae group, Jah Roots & is also the founder & operator of GanJah Records, his own independent label that is responsible for releasing his records with Jah Roots, his own solo records, his former Jah Roots bandmate, SkillinJah's latest solo albums as well as the new 77 Jefferson and Lance Sitton and The Seed albums.
gained fantastically large on-line notoriety, and were downloaded en masse all over the world. The band's success was recognized in the official media outlets of such locales as Guam, Hawaii & New Zealand. However, after years playing to overflowing crowds at outdoor festivals and packed mid-sized venues, the toll of non-stop touring began to take a personal toll, & Heinirchs decided to step away from the band he had taken so far, in order to devote more time to his wife & children.

Throngs of Jah Roots fans, whose numbers spanned across the globe, were understandably saddened to learn of their favorite bands dissolution. However, in very short order, they had their collective spirits buoyed, when in the spring of 2009, it was announced that Josh Heinrichs would be moving forward & recording/performing as a solo artist. Shortly following his announcement, Heinrichs released, the appropriately entitled EP, 'Things Change,' & toured in support, with a new band "Josh Heinrichs & The Soul Riddim Band." The new band's lineup was comprised of talented musicians whose previous work Heinrichs had long admired. The "Things Change" tour played throughout 2009, stopping in various locations throughout the midwest, west coast, and Hawaii. During the tour, the many fans that turned out to support Heinrichs' new musical vision were thrilled to discover Heinrichs, with help from his new band, was still performing their favorite Jah Roots standards -in addition to- delivering the current, and evolving music he was writing as a solo artist.

Aside from his work with his new band, Heinrichs has also toured extensively with his friend, & musical spar, Cas Haley. They've performed numerous shows as an acoustic duet, & have even recorded 'Favorites,' an as-yet-unreleased album of exciting new takes on their favorite classic reggae songs.

With the release date for Josh's new album quickly approaching, new & longtime fans alike will be growing increasingly eager to hear the new album, & all that Josh has to offer as a solo artist; an offering that'll be greatly enhanced this time around by such an amazing roster of talented friends.

Mike Pinto will take to the road on the Truthful Lies Tour with his full band in support of his forthcoming LP of the same name. The tour starts on May 16 in Long Beach, CA, making 48 stops (with more dates being added) across the nation.

Pinto and his band (Mike Hatton on bass, Brian Daggett on drums, Max O'Leary on trumpet and Jon Cestero on tenor sax) are gearing up for the tour and anticipation levels are already high.

"There is a garnered respect for the acoustic styles and narrative characteristics of Mike Pinto's music, an attribute showcased in his forthcoming record." - Aaron Solomon,

This will be his largest headlining tour to date, and it includes stops at Cali Roots Festival and the Rockin' Roots Festival. Pinto and his band are ready to throw everything into it to make it a summer to remember.

Joining Mike Pinto on the tour will be Hawaiian sons Natural Vibrations, and Philly's Three Legged Fox, making this a standout tour for the reggae, funk, rock and roots circuits.

Truthful Lies is set for release on May 14th; it will be Pinto's fifth release, following up Little District (2005), Mike Pinto (2007), Everything I Got (2009) and The West is Still Wild EP (2012). Guest Appearances on Truthful Lies include a stellar lineup of musicians, including: Junior Marvin (Bob Marley), Jesse Wagner and Roger Rivas (The Aggrolites), Micah Brown, George Laks (Lenny Kravitz), Chuck Treece (Bad Brains, G Love, McRad).

The album, recorded mostly at Soundmine Studios, East Stroudsburg, PA, and is being produced by Dan Malsch (The Misfits), Chuck Treece and Mike Pinto, as well as some tracks by Lew Richards at 17th Street Studios in Costa Mesa, CA. The album will contain up to 17 tracks, 16 of which are previously unreleased. The album art, which is revealed in the tour poster, was created by Jimmy Ovadia out of Ocean Beach, San Diego. It was designed to have an ethereal spin to it, while being boldly impressionistic, ala Van Gogh.

Mike Pinto gave his personal insight as to what to expect from the album: "Truthful Lies is going to have all different genres, including reggae, folk, rock n' roll, early funk, and more. I'm looking forward to collaborating with several artists on this disc. There's definitely going to be a mix of my old style and as well as getting dynamic with a transition to other new genres as well. I feel it's my best and most diverse material to date, and I can't wait for people to hear it."

Stiff Necked Fools

Stiff Necked Fools are a Reggae band based out of Shreveport, Louisiana. Dan Sanchez was an award-winning Blues artist from Los Angeles who was looking to do something new. His search led him to Reggae music, which soon became his passion and led him to form a project. Mr. Sanchez recruited the sounds of John Hoffman (the son of Stanton Hoffman of the Killer Bees) on drums, the fast fingers of Jason Ball on keys, and the explosive basslines of Greg Pitts. What started out as a fun side project quickly turned into something much more serious and a weekly gig. As the group began to pick up steam, the horn players arrived. Ryan Viser (Trumpet) and Stefan Poole (Saxophones) were brought in to help give the band that big, full sound. From here things started taking off. Unfortunately, just as the group was starting to blossom, Dan fell ill to cancer and passed away in March of 2010. Devastated, but determined, the Fools worked to pick up the pieces and keep on moving. Their persistence paid off. With more players added to the group and a new sound emerging, the weekly Reggae Thursdays jam at the Tiki started exploding. With the newfound energy came creativity and original songs started pouring out week after week. Today, they are easily the hottest Reggae/Jam band in this part of the country. With the group opening up for bands such as Rebirth Brass Band, Cowboy Mouth, Bonerama, and many others, it is surely only a matter of time before they gain a national following of their own. Stiff Necked Fools are making their mark on the music scene in Louisiana and are building a rising following among music lovers who enjoy groups such as Slightly Stoopid, Rebelution, The Expendables, etc. "Our genre of music has been dubbed Bayou Reggae" says Ryan Viser (Trumpet) "We definitely have that sound that Reggae is known for, but we've put a unique Louisiana-style twist on it that makes it really different". This is what sets Stiff Necked Fools apart from other bands. The horn players are up front and in your face bringing heat all night. Then they'll grab the mic and bust out a rap or sing. "You just never know what we're gonna do. The amount of talent each member brings makes this band very versatile" says John Hoffman (Vocals/Drums). Stiff Necked Fools debut album, Too Much Rain, released May 26th, 2011 and has already become a huge success! This is definitely a group to keep your eyes and ears on. Stiff Necked Fools….coming soon to a club near you!!
