The Turncoats

The Turncoats

The Turncoats are an alternative blues/rock group out of central Illinois. The idea of a band was brought up for a talent show in high school. They formed for the event and covered "Wind Cries Mary" and "Moby Dick" to win the show. Right from the beginning there was a spark and feeling of familiarity.

They began to develop their sound by covering classic rock legends. This put their musicianship to the test and helped them evolve on a professional level. Eventually they grew into writing their own material with songwriting influences ranging from The Beatles to The White Stripes.

Their live shows contain the electricity of The Who and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. The Turncoat's raw 60s british sound reminds you of early kinks, but with the instrumental prowess of Led Zeppelin.

The Turncoats, with their genre spanning influences, as well as their blues barreling live show, are sure to grab the crowd's attention.

Alex and the XO's

Alex and the XO's is an eclectic Indie Pop band formed in early 2011 at Illinois State University. After a brief hiatus, the band reformed in May of 2013 as a 5-piece featuring Alexandra Fisher on lead vocals, ukulele and guitar, Trenton Perry on mandolin, Ryan Ristucci on guitar and backing vocals, Joe Brandenburger on drums, and Storm Angone on bass. Alex and the XO’s are currently working on their first studio LP with the new line-up, proceeding the debut full length "North to the Future" and
sophomore release "Split Screens EP". In the past year the band has toured throughout the southern and western United States and plans on touring the east coast following the release of their new album. The new sound of the band shines throughout their energetic performance with critics and fans likening the bands new sounds to acts such as R.E.M, The Pixies, and Smashing Pumpkins. With the announcement of their full length album and subsequent tour, there is no doubt that Alex and the XO's will be making waves in 2015.
