Andy Sydow CD Release!

Andy Sydow

It is no surprise that 21 year old Andy Sydow spent the summer of 2012 opening for the likes of Delbert McClinton, Dick Dale, Bob Margolin and Clay McClinton, and did opening sets for both Michael Franti Spearhead, and Kid Rock at the 2012 Jazz Aspen Snowmass music festival. His superior New Orleans style piano playing and unique style of slide guitar have his band placed amongst one of the top rising acts in Denver. Born in Texas in 1991, and bred in Boulder, his music dabbles in Southern Rock, swampy Blues slide guitar, Americana and Folk. He began playing piano and saxophone at an early age, and started the guitar and harmonica in high school. Andy is currently a working musician and a recent graduate of The University of Colorado at Denver's Jazz Piano Music Performance program. Both as a solo act, and with his band, Sydow has been packing clubs in Denver for the last two years. His live shows represent his soulful style and heavy New Orleans influence. He is the piano player and band leader for the internationally recognized Claim Jumpers Traditional Jazz band, and is involved with various other projects as a sideman. His first EP, "Mountain Town" was released in May, 2012 and all four songs have received radio play nationally. His first full length album is due out in August, 2013.

Sleep Well (acoustic set)

The members of Sleep Well were brought together by forces of cosmic intervention, who, in their great wisdom, knew that the combination of these four souls in songwriting orgitude would result in music that the world truly needed to hear.

Sleep Well functions as a collaborative songwriting collective. At the beginning of every band practice, they partake in an ancient Native American ritual which allows them to combine their consciousnesses so that they become one unified super being. Once unified in super being-ness Sleep Well writes music.

Sleep Well's music is heart felt, and genuine. Their lyrics have been said to be "like if Shakespeare had Bukowski's liver, and this liver had insomnia, and wrote when it couldn't sleep." Their music forces you to look at life square in the eye, and say "what up," and get to know it a little better. They manage to combine stark seriousness with a vaguely bleak sense of humor. The result is sometimes wry, sometimes sarcastic, sometimes inspiring, sometimes unrepentantly joyful, but always beautiful; just like you.

They've been collaborating since sometime in 2012.
They play out regularly in the Denver area, and are currently recording their first LP.

Andy Palmer

"Andy Palmer is a former New York City public defender whose three years of living and working in the city's trenches clearly provided fodder for the painful truths and ruggedness of his alternative folk-rock sound.

His distinctively gritty vocals and hard luck tales have garnered him favorable comparisons to Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Nick Cave, Johnny Cash, and Leonard Cohen. Westword Magazine has listed his music as some of "Denver's Best," calling it "timeless" and "epic". At the national level, Palmer was named the 14th best new independent artist of by says: "Voices like this have not come to the forefront of the music scene since the likes of Louis Armstrong and Tom Waits." Jive Wired enthuses: "Andy Palmer is an amazing talent and his honest and raw vocals serve to superbly compliment his wonderful arrangements." Target Audience Magazine says: "Andy Palmer is an artist to keep an eye on." In addition, his music has been featured in multiple independent films. Based in part on these notable successes, producer Warren Huart (Aerosmith, The Fray) hand-selected Palmer to work with and produced Hazard of the Die.

Palmer was adopted at a young age and raised in the rural northeast on a small family farm. He has spent six winter months in near solitude in a yurt in Maine. He's lived on and volunteered at a Buddhist meditation retreat for many more months of silent meditation. He is a professionally trained massage therapist, river raft guide, and a licensed attorney. His songs capture and share these experiences through a unique blend of storytelling and poetry."
