This event is 21 and over
Shanna's love affair with music started many years ago. The lure of the magic and beauty of it has always been too strong for her to ignore. She has worked with many talented musicians over the years, writing many songs, performing at many venues (such as The House of Blues and Room 5), and sharing her journey through YouTube videos. In fact, one of her original songs (co-written by Rich Adoradio), It Took Losin You, has over 500,000 views and counting.
She has entranced people from all over the globe with her lovely vocals and continues her journey with an open mind and a humble heart.
She has been likened to such artist as Sara Bareilles, Norah Jones, Tori Amos, and Jason Mraz to name a few. For more information, please find her on Facebook and add yourself to her mailing list to be informed of all upcoming events.
GROW, Spencer Livingston’s debut solo release (produced by Peter Malick), takes an easy-going yet thought-provoking alt-rock, folk-Americana romp through the backwoods of L.A.
Los Angeles native Spencer Livingston grew up on a steady diet of rock Americana. His early love of Neil Young and Tom Petty was reinforced by a strong dose of Wilco. The son of actor Barry Livingston, who played Ernie Douglas on the 1960’s sitcom My Three Sons, Spencer is a natural performer. And though he was born and raised on the hem of Hollywood, Livingston has been nourished by a down-to-earth, artistic community supportive of his naturally rootsy inclination. Says Livingston, “I definitely come from a very musical family who exposed me to a really wide variety of music with everything from The Beatles to Woody Guthrie. As far as the way I write, I do most of my writing by just observing things as I go through life. Sometimes I just have an idea that pops into my head when I am going through my day and I write it down. It is as simple as that.” Spencer’s sensitive lyrics and disarmingly familiar voice seem to pine for a simpler space and time right now
Zoe Evans has been singing and writing songs since she was 14. After studying songwriting at Berklee College of Music, Zoe realized that she wanted to seriously pursue a career in music. She is currently in the process of recording her 3rd album, 'Leavin it to Fate'.
The Strangelights (closing set)
The Strangelights are bringing their brand of California psychedelic rock fused with a Post-Punk/New Wave sensibility to a galaxy near you… The quartet formed in 2008 and includes lead singer and keyboardist Beau Phillips, vocals and guitars by Leland Vandermulen, bass by Michael Harris and drums and by Matty Goss. Some of their most downloaded jams include "Pretty Girls In White," a hypnotic prog rocker that somehow landed in an 80's new wave club like the Hacienda in Manchester, UK, "The Wanderer" a Steely Dan influenced rocker, their ska-disco marriage of jangle rock in "Free In The Night" and look for the driving and spooky "Head Down The Road" - which has dazzled audiences at Strangelight shows, to be the first single from their upcoming EP.
The Strangelights debut album was recorded from 2009 to 2010 in English Hills, CA and produced and engineered by Rick Lucas and The Strangelights. They recorded a 3 song EP during the summer of 2012 and are gearing up to launch the release of both projects as well their homepage www.thestrangelights.com. Until then, a many of their songs can be streamed at www.soundcloud.com/thestrangelights .
