Pigs On The Wing, HalloQueen

Pigs On The Wing

Imagine the energy and electric intensity of Dark Side of the Moon era Pink Floyd in an intimate theater or rock club environment. Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Pigs on the Wing has been delivering that spellbinding experience to audiences throughout the NW since 2006.

Far from an attempt at Floyd-impersonation, POTW specializes in 70's era Floyd but is unapologetic in the interpretation and improvisation of the music in ways that the band believes any Pink Floyd fan will appreciate. Rather than always obsessing over exact, note for note replication of Floyd albums or any sort of look-alike mimicry of band members, POTW rather seeks to capture the intense atmosphere and rock energy of Pink Floyd in as unpretentious a style as possible. The result is a show which is true to the original and yet also a refreshing take on the music and experience of Pink Floyd. Recent highlights of the band's 2012-13 season have included material from Meddle, Wish You Were Here, The Wall, full performances of the classic albums Dark Side of the Moon and Animals as well as the live Wizard of Oz – Dark Side of the Moon sync and much more.

Pigs on the Wing features a collaborative and occasionally rotating roster composed of members of Portland alt-prog rock act Oxcart and other NW musicians brought together by a common appreciation for Pink Floyd. The current lineup includes: Jason Baker (guitar, vocals); Matt Jones (keys, vocals); Eric Welder (bass); Bryan Kopra (drums); David Lindenbaum (guitar, vocals); Keeley St. Clair (backing vocals, tambo) and Pete Galluzzo (saxophone).

Formed in 2001 by a veteran group of Seattle rockers, Halloqueen has cultivated a rabid following throughout the Northwest that's stone cold crazy for their versions of classics like "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," "Tie Your Mother Down," "We Are the Champions," and "Another One Bites the Dust." With an enthusiastic assist from the audience, they even tackle the musical behemoth that is "Bohemian Rhapsody." Halloqueen's powerhouse vocals, sledgehammer guitars, rock-solid rhythm section, and triumphant stage presence would surely leave Her Majesty very, very amused.
