New Sweden / Still Moon Servants / Cheers Elephant / Billy from Robot House

New Sweden has been sharing their unique flavor of Americana, Folk, and Indie Rock with the greater Philadelphia region since forming in late 2009. The 6-piece outfit molds their sound using a blend of traditional folk instruments (violin, banjo, acoustic guitar, mandolin, pump organ, bass, percussion) with a modern twist, all backed by energetic live performances. The lyrics are sincere, complex, and powerful; sure to speak to any listener willing to lend an ear.

So far it's been a great ride for New Sweden; the recording and release of their first studio record, “The Mountain” (Recording Engineer Nick DiDia, Producer Ritchie Rubini) stands out as an exciting milestone and success to date, but not to be overlooked were: sharing the stage with the likes of The Felice Brothers, Kevin Devine, James McMurty, and all artists at NON-COMM 2011, competing with local Philadelphia bands and ultimately winning the Beta-Hi-Fi Emerging Artist Competition, two TriState Indie Awards for Best Delaware Band and a whole slew of other shows and competitions along the away.

In less than 3 years, New Sweden has built a strong, loyal fan base in the Philadelphia/Wilmington region through relentless live performances and an undeniable connection with all types of audiences. Support for the band has been evident with over 1,000 albums sold independently, packing World Cafe Live at The Queen for “The Mountain” record release party, and consistent growth of followers through Facebook, Twitter and

So what’s in store for the future? New Sweden will continue to support their new release, “The Mountain” through East Coast U.S. tours, local performances, and radio appearances. A new batch of recordings is in the works, and as always, fans can keep an eye out for new online video content and raw New Sweden-produced home studio recordings.

Members of the band are Caroline Stratton, Dan Weirauch, William Dobies, James Dukenfield, and Zac Dukenfield, ranging in age from early 20's to 30. They combine guitar, bass, organ, banjo, mandolin, viola, percussion, and anything else they can get their hands on to form their sound.

The group consists of a nuclear fuel designer, an oceanographer, and good old blue collar American boys who march to the theory that "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts" (Aristotle). With their diversity, the band creates heartfelt music with meaningful lyrics that make you ponder happiness, sadness, or even luckiness to be where you are in this crazy and unpredictable world. Simply put, they are dedicated to the power of the song. Music makes the world go round, and they write the soundtrack.

The band's goal is to perform as much as possible! In this day and age, you never know where tomorrow will take you. "On a ship, we shall sail..." New Sweden is highly motivated to get their songs heard, and they will stop at nothing. Look for them to perform on a stage near you.

Still Moon Servants

Still Moon Servants is a young, talented, and extremely motivated band with a sound that combines classic rock with a passionate and eclectic tone that you don't hear much anymore. The band is driven by Dan White's insightful lyrics as well as melodic and soulful guitar solos that will blow your mind. Backed up by a dangerous rhythm section, jazzy tenor sax, and piano, they'll keep you rocking and... dancing all night long!

Cheers Elephant

Dubbed, "Chew it up, Spit it out, Rock and Roll", Cheers Elephant is a tight, rootsy, psychedelic poprock quartet from Philadelphia, PA. Digging deep into three part harmonies and pop song arrangements, Cheers has a sound that'll make your dad's toe tap, your mom's hip shake, and your sister's heart throb. And the live show? Some say it's something close to the devil, God, or cocaine.

On May 8th, 2012, Cheers Elephant played The Apple Store Philadelphia for the official release of their third record, Like Wind Blows Fire. The record was extremely well received as it charted well on the CMJ indie charts . The track 'Leaves' hit #4 on Hype Machine and featured on We Are Hunted, NPR, Ex.FM, Good Music All Day, and Spotify. Cheers has shared the stage with acts like Mayer Hawthorne, Rubblebucket, The Go! Team, The Walkmen, Darwin Deez, Jefferson Starship, The Mother Hips, and more. So, why not take a sip of Cheers Elephant? The buzz is good.
