Summer Sessions: A Night with Eric Wyatt

Summer Sessions: A Night with Eric Wyatt

Brooklyn-born tenor saxophonist Eric Wyatt’s musical talents emerged from the old school of jazz. Inspired by his Godfather Sonny Rollins and taught by his talented father Charles Wyatt, an accomplished saxophonist who played with legends such as Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, and John Coltrane.

After receiving his B.A. in music from the Lehman College School of Performing Arts, Wyatt began touring both the city and the world, playing sets at all of New York's legendary jazz clubs as well as in Paris, Japan, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Bejing, and Canada.

Wyatt has also recorded and played with some of the most talented musicians in New York, including Kenny Garrett, Roy Hargrove Wallace Roney, Clifton Anderson, Rodneyt Kendrick, Larry Willis, Stephen Scott, Warren Wolf, Jeremy Pelt, Willie Jones, and Monty Alexander. His albums include Godson, The Blue Print, and Covert Operation.
