Blackwater '64

Blackwater '64 is a rock n' roll band from St Louis, MO.
Combining the best elements of American blue collar music, Blackwater '64 plays stripped down twangy Midwestern indie rock with a blues influence. Blackwater '64 has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with: Needtobreathe, Shooter Jennings, American Aquarium, Gasoline Heart, Cassino, Carter Hulsey, Park, Tom Pappas Collection (Tom of Superdrag), Geoff Rickly (of Thursday), Koji, Brian Marquis and Roots of Rebellion.

Fletcher began as a basement project between brothers Oscar and Harvey Baker and their long time friend Tom Fry. While two of the members are originally from London, England and the other from Chicago, IL, the band has been able to create a new strand of new age British Rock with quirky melodies and brain tingling music. Insisting on sticking to a three-piece band, Fletcher has created a vigorous and chemistry driven connection between each member. After collaborating for just under nine months, Fletcher has gained a reputation around Chicago and beyond, for demonstrating that great music can form in the blink of an eye.

Hope And Therapy

The vocal prowess, moody minor piano chords, and introspective lyrics of singer/songwriter Hope Gaines are the focus of this ensemble. Hope's songwriting is complimented tastefully by the smooth bass lines of Dan Deck and jazzy brushed drumming of Drew Mader. Hope & Therapy's sound blurs the lines between blues, progressive, soul, jazz, folk, and indie taking cues from modern greats such as Radiohead, Catpower, and Coldplay all the while winking and nodding to timeless classics like the Beatles, Roberta Flack, and Ray Charles. Let them take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Forget what you know. This is "The New Blues".

"The members of Alton's Hope & Therapy are no strangers to the local music community...Moody and introspective, the trio combines atmospheric jazz and classical touches with sighing piano melodies and rainy-day lyrics...Hope Gaines is an expressive vocalist whose emotion is sincere, not overstated. Definitely a new local band to watch." -Annie Zaleski, Riverfront Times Local Music Editor
