The Return of Buster Poindexter

The Return of Buster Poindexter

New York, NY – With four SRO shows under his belt – and media coverage including NY1 and Page Six, New York’s own Buster Poindexter has added four more shows to his residency at The Cutting Room – May 14, May 28, June 6 and June 11.

Marking his first New York club appearance in 15 years, Buster Poindexter, the suave alter ego of New York Dolls frontman David Johansen, has brought his classic lounge
crooner character (“Hot, Hot, Hot”) back to the stage for a limited – and popular – run
at The Cutting Room in New York City. The run kicked off April 16th and has now been
extended – by popular demand – for four upcoming evenings through June 11th. (Details

Before he donned tux and pompadour as Poindexter—the sophisticated lounge singer
with stage presence to spare—Johansen was lead singer of the legendary proto punk
band, the New York Dolls, who influenced the look of a generation of new wave and
glam metal bands and played an important role in the New York rock scene that spawned
the Ramones, Blondie and Talking Heads, among others.
