Benefit For the Fisher House

Benefit Concert for The Fisher House Foundation

We Count On Our Troops, Can They Count On You?

Wounded soldiers face a long, challenging recovery. But consider what their families must go through? Often thousands of miles from the hospital, they must take time from work and family to travel to be there for their loved one.

The Fisher House Provides a Home Away From Home

The Fisher House maintains homes next to military hospitals to allow the families of our wounded heroes to be with them as they fight to recover from their traumatic injuries.

Your Donation Supports This Mission

This event is possible because of major funding by Community Bank of The Bay, Brannons Medical, and Club Fox. Your contributions made here to the go directly to the The Fisher House. The Fisher House is a 501(c) 3 organization and your contribution is tax free.

Raising Money Is Good, So Is Raising Awareness

We were surprised to learn that many people had never heard about The Fisher House. Your contribution means a lot, but it is equally important to spread the word about The Fisher House and it's mission. Our nation's wars may be winding down, but our wounded warriors still face a long battle to recover from their wounds.

Mick & The Big Dawg Patriots

One Night Only - The Club Fox Concert For Semper Fi
Some things happen only once a year, and the Mick & The Big Dawg Patriot concert for The Semper Fi Fund at Club Fox in Redwood City is an event you should not miss. The Big Dawgs were formed as a way of using original music to promote awareness about military charities. Last year's event drew over $5,000 in direct donations to The Semper Fi Fund. Now in its 4th year, The Club Fox Concert for Semper Fi is the only time the band performs together.

Mick is the songwriter behind Mick & The Big Dawg Patriots. His songs draw the listener in immediately with strong hooks and melodies fused to compelling vocal narratives. Mick is joined by talented musicians, including band leader Greg Studley (House of Floyd), Dave Pierce (Third Sol, The Funkery) Chris Hartje (Zebop), Megan Gluhan (OTR), and Bay Area Rockers Cory Clar and Eddie Berman.

The Big Dawgs' music ranges from mainstream rock to the edge of country music and is always entertaining. The band performs the most popular songs from its three albums, Behind Brick Walls, Musical Chairs, and Postcards. A fourth album is due out at the 2016 show.

Megan Gluhan

Megan Gluhan started playing the piano at age 5. And five short years later, when St. Patrick’s Church in Watsonville was desperate for a pianist, Megan was booked for her very first gig! From there Megan started playing for the Moreland Notre Dame School masses, and then weekend liturgies thanks to the encouragement of her music teacher, Leslie Henderson.

More encouragement came from Fr. Matt Pennington, who got Megan to first start singing about 5 years ago at San Agustin Church in Scotts Valley. Fr. Matt convinced Megan to do a duet with him on Holy Thursday in front of the Bishop! When Megan discovered she could sing, it inspired her to start writing music for the Catholic Church. Since then Megan has written over 30 songs, many written with the help of her silent writing partner Jan Smith.

Megan is currently the Music Teacher and Music Director for Holy Spirit School & Church in Almaden Valley. It’s a dream position because she gets to use her gifts and talents and love of music to serve God!
