Anne McCue, David Olney, Sergio Webb
19 Corte Madera Ave.
Mill Valley, CA, 94941
Native Australian and now based in Nashville, ANNE MCCUE can wield a Hendrix-like guitar or write and sing beautiful acoustic songs. "... stratospheric guitar work, whisky-soaked voice and songs crackling with classic intensity and modern energy…"
McCue describes her new album, Broken Promise Land, as "a bit dirty, a bit rockin', a bit swampy and a bit bluesy, with a touch of mysteriousness to it." Voted the Roots Music Association's Folk Artist of the Year in 2008, Anne was included in the Four Decades of Folk Rock box set alongside of Bob Dylan and Wilco. She has played in concert halls all over the world including the Sydney Opera House. Heart's Nancy Wilson has described her as "my Aussie clone," while Americana icon Lucinda Williams had this to say: "Initially, her stunning voice hooked me in. Then I got inside the songs. The first chance I got, I went to see her perform . . . I was floored!"
David Olney is one of the early pioneers of what’s known as Americana Music. His songs have been recorded by great artists like Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt, Del McCoury, Tim O’Brien, Ann Rabson and Lonnie Brooks to name a few. He has released more than 20 albums over four decades, including six live recordings. Accompanied by Sergio Webb, the duo creates a live experience that is beyond description and at the same time tremendously memorable. Two men on stage, one looking like a 1950s private eye and the other like he just stepped off a spaghetti western movie set. One a master story teller and the other an ace guitar picker. Their highly theatrical performances have taken them to stages across America and around the world. "This was a ROOTS/AMERICANA DREAM TEAM that spoiled us rotten. RIVETING and UNFORGETTABLE.²" ~ Americana-UK.com
Sergio Webb has been an underrated journeyman musician for hire for years. He has toured the UK accompanying Pinto Bennett, David Olney, Gail Davies and many others and works tirelessly from his Nashville base on call to those singers who possess musical integrity—in short the guy’s something of a ‘maverick’—so don’t expect to see him on stage accompanying the likes of Faith, Taylor or Carrie.
