Palmyra Delran/The Recordettes

Palmyra Delran, celebrated as the high-octane engine and guitar siren behind the ‘90s chick-powered retro garage-pop band The Friggs, will perform at NYC’s The Cutting Room on May 31st alongside NYC favorites The Brimstones. Palmyra will be playing songs off her sassy trash-pop solo album You Are What You Absorb which premiered on WNYC Soundcheck’s “Check Ahead” series and is out now.

Last month, Palmyra premiered the music video for “You’re My Brian Jones” off You Are What You Absorb on, featuring Nashville singer Boo Ray and a cameo by The Ettes – PRESS HERE to watch. Palmyra has also released The Making of “You’re My Brian Jones” – PRESS HERE to watch. The song was selected by Little Steven Van Zandt as his personal pick for “Coolest Song of 2012” on SiriusXM’s Little Steven’s Underground Garage.

You Are What You Absorb offers up an intoxicating romp through the influences that have come to define Palmyra, but more importantly, that she has helped to define. These 12 tracks overflow with Palmyra’s signature punk grit, hook-laden melodies, bright surf-pop, retro sass and cut-to-the-bone lyrics, reminding us that her unique rock ‘n’ roll spirit is just as captivating today as it was nearly two decades ago. PRESS HERE to listen to Palmyra’s most recent single "Shy Boy," which Little Steven premiered as “The Coolest Song In The World.”
