Sharkmuffin's name fits. The Brooklyn all female 3-piece outfit crafts adorable pop music with jagged, garage-aged fangs. With lyrical subjects including incest, mythical bestiality, and homicidal heroin using femebots, Thiessen's gutsy vocals jump between gentle moans to rough, forceful screams. They melt into Sarah Peterson's crashing cymbals and Natalie Kirch's thudding bass in a harmonious union. Admiration for 90s alternative girl group-esquehooks are paired with heavy 1970s inspired guitar riffs to create the raw sound of these punk rocking debutants. With these guys, it's no secret the end goal is fun. Sharkmuffin doesn't really give a fuck, they just want to have a good time.

Stereo Off is a five piece group of New York City based indie rockers with electronic overtones. When producer/ lead vocalist Sebastian began the new project, he enlisted an eclectic roster of friends from SUNY music conservatories, Juilliard, and the band scenes of London and NYC. With influences ranging from electronic bands and rock influences from classic rock to 90's indie bands, Stereo Off takes a straight forward approach in their danceable melodies, catchy guitar riffs and analog keyboard accents.
A composer's son from Berlin, lead singer and principal songwriter Clemens Knieper moved to the Berkshires as a youngster to live with family friend and Orange Twin artist Sibylle Baier, who both taught him to write songs and to drive. Now he makes sepia toned folk and pop under The Top moniker, where he's joined by Dan Stern (drums), Aaron Green (keys) and James Preston (bass). If comparisons are your thing, George Harrison, Kinks, Strokes, etc…

Last year Vandana Jain, a Brooklyn-based graphic designer turned experimental pop performer, quietly released her debut EP Vandamner complete with her own intricate album art, handmade record sleeve and limited pressing all sealed with a touch of red wax and twine. It is that same attention to intimate detail that infects her music as well, lending both to its beauty and to its raw, uncomfortable quality.
Raised in India and educated in London, Vandana has collected an eclectic tapestry of both musical and aesthetic influences over the years, all of which find a place in the music. Everything from Portishead to Pink Floyd, the rave scene in London and Indian pop music lend to her layered style of glitchy beats, electronic swells and heavy synth lines that lay beneath Jain's emotive front and center vocal play.
Although the project is primarily a solo effort, most recently Vandana teamed up with Yusuke Yamamoto, a New York based artist musician. Together they re-worked the set with live vocals over thick club beats and spontaneous loop creation.
Vandana has her debut full lenth Anti Venus due out later this year. The first single Ecstatic from the LP which premiered on Ad Hoc this April can be streamed on Souncloud.

"Strip Darling, an atmospheric local indie-pop outfit fronted by the angelic-voiced keyboardist Jacque Ryal. It's an impressively diverse set, encompassing torchy brooders and sultry upbeat jams." - Time Out New York
"Strip Darling is 5 piece New York City-based band led by keyboardist Jacque Ryal. Introspective, angry, and ultimately redemptive, Mend is a moody, atmospheric song cycle that is very much on par with artists such as Tori Amos, Portishead and Florence & The Machine." - The Interrobang - The Filtered Excellence
Starbolt 9 is melodious space rock, conceived by stellar frontman Joe Medici. The band's fusion of classic glam rock, post punk and modern Brit-pop has raised more than a few eyebrows, earning them comparisons to legends such as David Bowie, Echo and The Bunnymen and The Verve, and the praise of Sex Pistols founder, Glen Matlock. Medici's dark, ultra-expressive vocals and new romantic lyrical musi...ngs are complimented by the lush, hypnotic guitar lines of Mik Rodriguez, the psychedelic keyboard soundscapes and classical piano embellishments of Jeff Binder, the monstrous, yet precise, bass thunder of Nicky "Beast" Bowman and the solid rhythmic pulse of drummer Patsy Bennett. Starbolt 9 has now become New York City's foremost neo-glam band.
In the classic tradition of the Stones & U2, Starbolt 9 bring a sensational and unique live energy to the stage. They have awed audiences up and down the east coast, from The Mercury Lounge, NYC to The Masquerade in Atlanta. They were recently one of only 25 other artists chosen to participate in the All About Music festival in Nashville, TN. They have played alongside notable artists such as Lady GaGa, The Fiery Furnaces, Slinky Vagabond, We Are The Fury, and Spindrift. They have performed live for 107.7 WACC in Connecticut and 90.3FM WMSC Radio in Montclair, NJ. Starbolt 9 are also featured regularly on 93.30 FM in Argentina.
