Bit Gen Gamer Fest 9
MAGFest presents Bit Gen Gamer Fest 9, Baltimore's home grown video game music and arts festival! Come hear the best video game inspired bands while playing a wide selection of console and arcade classics. In addition to music and games we also have video game inspired artists showcasing their wide array of artwork.
Powerglove is an instrumental power metal band from Arlington, Massachusetts. They refer to their music as "video game metal", as all of their music is based on one video game or a series of video games. The band is named for the Power Glove, a NES controller accessory. To date, they have released one album, Metal Kombat for the Mortal Man, and one EP, Total Pwnage. Powerglove has also performed at various video game shows. The band is not signed to any record label, and does not record in a professional studio. Instead, they record their music in various locations and mix them in a home studio. The band has also expressed interest in writing a third record.[
Baltimore's synth rock video game tribute band!
Knight of the Round
Poly-Rhythmic Thrash inspired by Nobuo Uematsu's legendary "Final Fantasy" video game scores.
Raheem Jarbo, aka Random or Mega Ran. Teacher/Rapper/Hero. People will remember Ran for his daring leap into video game remixing which led to a Capcom cosign, but Random's penchant for storytelling has impressed retro gamers while garnering respect from Hip-Hop's harshest critics. An incredible impromptu "freestyle" MC, Random's unique combination of fantasy and introspective hip-hop has found its way into TV shows, movies, video games, and even coursework at several universities. That's Random.
Cheap Dinosaurs is a psychedelic prog rock band. Based out of Philadelphia and led by ex-Chromelodeon leader Dino Lionetti, Cheap Dinosaurs' audio-visual experience combines pop melodies with jagged rusty rhythms, circuit bent sounds, and dirty synthesizer leads.
