Luce began in 2002 when a young house painter named Tom Luce decided he would pursue a life long dream of writing and recording his very first CD. What he never imagined what that this CD, featuring the song Good Day, would begin a career that would take his band and him on thirty-three national tours, earn a Bammy for best debut album, end up in two major motion pictures and several television shows, and receive airplay on almost every Triple A radio station and on countless Hot AC stations across the country. Tom Luce decided it was time to put down his paintbrush.
Since that beginning Luce has been touring constantly and has put out three full-length CD’s as well as an acoustic EP that rediscovered the fan favorite, “Good Day” as well as introduced new LUCE songs. “We wanted to push ourselves by recording live” says singer Tom Luce. “Recording a song acoustically opens the door to new ideas and crazy experiments”. Luce has also reworked their live show and is now back in the studio working on new material for the fourth album. “This business forces you to keep reinventing yourself,” says Tom, “there is always a feeling like something creatively great is just around the corner”. And as far as painting houses goes, “I miss that sometimes” he says. “But I guess I’ve really just switched from paint brushes to guitars”.
Jeff’s onstage experiences have taken him to coast to coast countless times and have found him have found him sharing the stage with John Mayer, members of Counting Crows, Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead, opening for multiplatinum selling, multi-Grammy-winning band Train and performing on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show.
Recently selected as the winner of Guitar Center's National Singer Songwriter 2 Competition out of over 13,000 entrants, Jeff Campbell released "In Spite of Everything", a 5 song EP produced by 6 time Grammy Winning Producer John Shanks, in late 2013.
Chuck Dauphin of Music News Nashville said Jeff's 2012 release 'Stop and Go' is "...an album that will leave you wanting more".
A Philadelphia native, Campbell moved to San Francisco in 2004 specifically for the newer Rock scene he had heard was developing. After a few years of trying to balance learning the West Coast Music Scene with his day job, the job was cast aside in favor of full time touring, writing and recording for a living.
Early 2012 saw the release of Campbell’s first-ever acoustic album, "Stop and Go". A live audio/video reproduction of the album was recorded and released later in 2012. Jeff has been touring the US to support these new releases since the fall of 2011. He will continue to do so throughout 2012 and beyond and will not stop until his piece of history is defined. He has played hundreds of shows in dozens of cities and continues to build a loyal following through live performances with personality everywhere he goes.
