Geoff Rickly (of Thursday)
Geoff Rickly is the lead singer and songwriter of Thursday, an American rock band from New Brunswick, New Jersey. They have released six studio albums. Rickly grew up in Dumont, New Jersey.
Rickly has contributed guest vocals to many songs, including My American Heart's "We Are the Fabrication", Murder by Death's "Killbot 2000", This Day Forward's "Sunfalls and Watershine", and Circa Survive's "The Lottery." Geoff also occasionally performs solo, most recently in Hoboken, New Jersey at the Eyeball Records holiday party, performing Autumn Leaves Revisited and This Side of Brightness acoustic.
Geoff also recently has become extremely popular in the country of Ireland as both a musician and a composer. Lyrically, Rickly has been known to draw from a wide variety of influences, many of them being authors and poets. In a March 2009 interview, he cited the works of Denis Johnson, Martin Amis, Roberto Bolaño and David Foster Wallace as being among his influences for the lyrics of Thursday's Common Existence album, which was released in February 2009. A tattoo on his forearm reads "love is love", a lyric from the band Frail; Rickly adopted these lyrics into Thursday's "A Hole in the World." Thursday's "Autobiography Of A Nation" is clearly influenced by poet Michael Palmer's "Sun."
John Nolan (of Taking Back Sunday)
John Thomas Nolan is the lead singer/guitarist of Straylight Run and the guitarist/co-vocalist of Taking Back Sunday. Nolan left Taking Back Sunday in 2003 and during March 2010 rejoined Taking Back Sunday with Shaun Cooper, who left during his first run with the band, reforming the Tell All Your Friends-era lineup. John Nolan also has a solo project and has recorded an album called Height.
Gabriel The Marine
Gabriel the Marine is a five-piece Indie Rock outfit from Long Island, New York. Since their inception into the underground music scene in 2008, the band has released a self titled demo, the Your Friends and Loved Ones EP, and the Live from the Purevolume House live ep, all independently and all to critical acclaim. Spin Magazine called them a blend of "Jimmy Eats World meets The Decemberists" in 2009, and purevolume.com called them "One of the best unsigned artists of 2009".
