Just People

Just People

Just People are a soul-rock outfit based in the bubbling music scene of Portland, Oregon. Derived from the mind of idealistic front man Scott Gilmore, Just People combines the optimism of our past with the dedication and energy of today’s youth.

In 2013, Just People released their most polished album to date titled “Light/Weight”. According to the Portland Pick, “Light/Weight has laid the groundwork for creating a new standard for the Portland pop rock scene” They go on to say that “Each track on Light/Weight is a journey to where the human condition has gone and will continue to explore. It’s an imposing release that should carry them into much success. “

The band has drawn comparisons to artists throughout the genre spectrum from Pearl Jam and The Flaming Lips to the Talking Heads and Cat Stevens. One thing is for certain, Darcy Wallace of the Oregon Voice states: “JUST PEOPLE are tough to pin down, but damn it, it just sounds so good.”

IO and the Echoes

Christopher Worth started singing when he was 20 years old. “It was almost like it came overnight,” Worth says. Auditioning for a college rendition of West Side Story on a whim, he was accepted in an ensemble part that required singing and dancing. “Since I was young I’d always been fascinated by the stage and performance…it was in college that I got to really explore this, and that’s when my voice came. I wanted to be an actor before I was a singer.” Within several months of rehearsals and a couple sessions with the vocal coach, Worth’s abilities as a vocalist and performer expanded into something he hadn’t expected. “It was as if I’d found my purpose on stage.”
