The Dirk Quinn Band
Dirk Quinn is the guitarist for a high energy funk/jazz/jam band based out of Philadelphia that travels extensively throughout the US and Canada. Utilizing nearly a decade of steady performing, Quinn has developed a unique and progressive style - one that appeals to a wide variety of music listeners with fans ranging from the jam band hippies to the jazz snobs.
Initially attracted to the guitar as a teenager after being introduced to classic rock giants such as Led Zeppelin and The Beatles, Quinn’s thirst for the unique and bizarre soon had him jamming along to the more radical and daring Mahavishnu Orchestra and the humorous, bass-laden noise of Primus. Playing virtually non-stop with countless musical projects afforded him ample opportunity to hone his chops. It wouldn’t be long before the refining of his own artistic message coupled with a fresh, new outlook and a deeper musical/life philosophy opened up to him the world of jazz. Miles, Coltrane, Monk and Brubeck along with the more contemporary sounds of Bela Fleck, John Scofield, Ahmad Jamal and Jaco Pastorius began heavily influencing his musical direction. Liberated by the idea of free improvisation, he was finally able to realize and focus his musical vision.
Surrounding himself with a group of extremely talented and like-minded musicians, Quinn has been playing shows across North America while receiving an ever increasing amount of media attention. His music has now been featured on over 100 radio stations worldwide and gets daily plays in his hometown of Philadelphia. Notable spins include the "Pick of the Day" on WXPN in Philadelphia as well as on the nationally syndicated "Keller's Cellar" broadcast hosted by Keller Williams.
The Dirk Quinn Band just released "Live at Home" in January of 2012. Featuring tracks recorded over 5 different shows in and around their hometown of Philadelphia, the new CD runs the gamut from beautiful and delicate movements to evil dissonance; from intricate and thought provoking melodies to hard driving funk and is a fantastic representation of the group's live show experience.
The band’s infectious energy and musical interplay routinely attract listeners that are admittedly more accustomed to lyric-based music. With great melodic sensibilities, rhythmic experimentation and an accessible modern edge, the Dirk Quinn Band is jazz/funk improvisation at its most exciting!
Emerging from the Pennsylvania music scene, from the outskirts of the City of Brotherly Love, is the phenom band known as Flux Capacitor. Their fiery, distinct sound has catapulted the group with lightning speed into the National Music Scene.
This band of brothers consistently inspire and evoke a new and wildly addicting sound resonating with elements of rock, improvisation and electronica. They redefine musicality with positive prophetic vocals, complex guitar work, innovative keys/synths/bass stylings, with feverish syncopated drum rhythms. Performances at every show dubbed "Encounters" are filled with improvisation, musical segways, spontaneous covers, and teases creating a one of a kind experience. The brothers are clearly devoted to current affairs, the future of the world, their craft and their fans. Their intense playing feels almost effortless and is charged by a higher power. Their electric vibe transcends the stage and extends into the crowd creating a magical musical ambience of jamming on tribal proportions. Flux has adopted a freer sylistic element of music that embraces and engages their audiences.
Flux has traveled the east coast, mid-west, south-east and Canada. Headlining festivals, clubs and
a plethera of venues. Their new cd "Monolith" was recorded with Jack Endino in Seattle Washington, famed for recording with many of the great acts of the last century, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and more.

Vibratek is not just a mere band, but a vehicle that propels forwards and backwards through time and space. While constantly paying tribute to great musicians of the past, Vibratek instinctively pushes the boundaries of what has been done before. Once aboard the vehicle that is Vibratek, the listener is taken on a fierce, yet feel-good journey through many tight, funky grooves and aural soundscapes that defy the laws of being subjugated to any one genre. Their attack is relentless, even while passing through mellow sections of a tune the audience can not help but be completely involved both physically and emotionally, creating an awe inspiring atmosphere. It is not long, however, before Vibratek blasts off again into another raging warp-speed groove with the utmost intensity and feeling.
With an ever changing and growing set-list it seems as though Vibratek has an endless amount of musical tenacity. This band's commitment to growth and musicianship helps them maintain a genre-bending reputation and vice versa, creating an endless loop of musical prowess and limitless possibilities of direction. Whether it is by pure fascination of talent and musicianship, their good sense of humor, their upstanding character's, or their catchy lyric's there is much to keep the music lover's coming out to each and every show.
Vibratek released their debut cd "Talkin' On The Cellie (EP)" on November 16th, 2012 that is comprised of three tracks, the single being "Squirrel Biscuits."
