Michael Landau with Special Guest Soul Pie

The Michael Landau Group

Musician and composer Michael Landau is a prolific session guitarist and performer who has played on hundreds of albums since the 1980s. Some session highlights include Pink Floyd, Miles Davis, B.B. King, Ray Charles, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Michael Jackson and Rod Stewart. He has recently shared the stage in band projects with Robben Ford and Jimmy Herring, and toured with Joni Mitchell, James Taylor and his own project The Michael Landau Group. With many releases under his own name, the latest being the critically acclaimed "Organic Instrumentals" on Tone Center Records, his music flows intensely, ranging from spooky ballads with beautiful improvisation to rowdy voodoo rock 'n' roll with vocals. He is an expressive, mind blowing guitarist. This all-star band features Andy Hess (Gov't Mule, The Black Crowes, John Scofield) on bass and Gary Novak (Chick Corea) on drums.

The Bad Jones

The sound of The Bad Jones (formerly Soul Pie) is undeniably big, with core influences ranging from the edgy funk and soul of early Chili Peppers and The Meters to the rock and pounding energy of The Who and Soundgarden. Their music is hard and laced with razor sharp blues riffs, while at the same time pushing a mature harmonic and dynamic quality that gives the band its unique sound.

The Bad Jones is:
Jesse Ray Smith - vocals/guitar
Tommy Odetto - guitar
Tim Baker - bass
John Varn - keyboards
Teddy James Cox - drums
