20th Anniversary Tour! Rotten Sound is a Finnish grindcore band, formed in 1993 in Vaasa.
Rotten Sound plays music in the same vein as Napalm Death and Extreme Noise Terror, lyrically attacking social issues such as greed, conformity and racism. The band has been praised mostly for its ferocity and relentlessness, as well as the unusually high musicianship of the group, particularly ex-drummer Kai Hahto, who left to join the Finnish progressive / melodic death metal band Wintersun.
One of only three east coast shows! Hellshock is a Crust Punk band from Portland, Oregon that was formed in 2000. They combine a brand of "Dark" Crust Punk with Hardcore Punk, and Thrash Metal. Lyrically, the band writes almost exclusively about war. The five-piece has ex-members of Remains of the Day, Atrocious Madness, From Ashes Rise, and Detestation.
Rampaging hardcore noize from these Australian fanatics. This band takes the Disorder/Confuse style of hardcore and cranks up the distortion in the style made famous by bands like Gloom and Disclose. Has the same hard charging power and wall of raw noise of bands like D-Clone, Perdition and Nerveskade but with a solid and powerful hardcore punk backbone that recalls the masters of Scandinavian hardcore from years past. Some bands attempting this style start to fall apart and just sound like a barrage of senseless noise. Kromosom holds it down with solid and punishing songs directing, yes, channeling the energy of the noise and distortion in crushing riffs instead of pure white noise. This band is touring the US this summer and Japan soon after. Releases out on Havoc, Southern Lord, Holy Terror. D.B.H.!!!
Unwashed NYC punks playing noisy hardcore punk.
Formed in 2009, WAKE have maintained a focus on DIY touring, recording, and ethos, and produced music carefully devised to merge the punishment and speed of grindcore with nuance and diversity. Tens of thousands of miles and tens of thousands of blastbeats later little has changed: Defiance, self-reliance, and menacing riffs remain their fascination and sole commitment.
