NYC's Dares draw influences from late '70s post-punk to '80s and '90s American Indie Underground. Comprised of Mario Santana, Devin O'Daniel, Alden Farrar and Alexis Rhode, Dares began recording with Ben Greenberg (Uniform, Hubble, The Men, Pygmy Shrews) in 2015, and released their debut 7" vinyl spring of 2017.
Girls on Grass
Girls on Grass was formed by singer-songwriter-guitarist Barbara Endes and drummer Nancy Polstein, who joined forces after discovering they shared a mutual admiration, stoked by seeing each other play around NYC’s rock and country scenes. This combo inspired a burst of songwriting and the pair filled out the band with bassist Dave Mandl and guitarist Sean Eden. Girls on Grass recorded its eponymous debut in 2016, which was hailed as “Melodic, strong, cohesive and just damn good – the perfect hybrid of rock & roll, country, and pop” (Popdose). NY Music Daily called the album a "Gorgeously jangly Paisley Underground rock masterpiece." Bringing in guitar slinger David Michael Weiss to replace the itinerant Eden, Girls on Grass enlisted Eric “Roscoe” Ambel to produce their follow-up full-length recording, set to be released in early 2019.
