Vaureen, LST, Triptychs
217 E Houston St.
New York, NY, 10002
This event is 21 and over
Taking cues from alternative, shoegaze, and stoner rock, Vaureen's sound ranges from airy to ominous. The band started in 2011 when co-workers Andrea Horne and Marianne Do began playing music together, rotating through drummers until Cale Hand joined the band in 2015. The next year they recorded and self-released Violence, a short-but-dynamic three song EP. Their first LP, Extraterra, was released on Rising Pulse Records in October 2018, and has been described as “equal parts of gloom and brightness, delivering songs that are both brooding and full of pop sensibility.”
LST combines the catchiness of modern pop elements with moody songwriting to create dreamy, dark, syrupy, synth- pop.
Triptychs is an electronic music group formed in 2019 upon meeting one evening at the Bowery Electric. Combining melodies and machines, the band evokes a dark and dreamy spirit of post punk fueled by coffee, cloves, and candles. Triptychs resurrects a familiar yet unfamiliar sound, an ode to the 80’s from two modern ladies.
