Big Debates, Lil Issues
Pairs of comedians face off in passionate, high-stakes debates about absolutely unimportant, low-stakes topics. Come watch, cheer, and vote for a winner!
Hosted by Ariel Dumas and Karen Chee.
Karen Chee is a comedy writer/performer who contributes regularly to The New Yorker, McSweeney's, and Splitsider. She has also written for Reductress, Shondaland, Funny or Die, and The Washington Post. Around town, Karen does sketch comedy with Lo-Fi and improv with anyone who will let her.
Ariel Dumas is a writer and performer who hails from the Midwest. After gallivanting around the US with The Second City Touring Company, she joined the writing staff of The Colbert Report. Today, Ariel writes for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (for which she has garnered several Emmy nominations!) and she tweets: @arieldumas.

Josh Gondelman is a writer and comedian who incubated in Boston before moving to New York City, where he currently lives and works as a writer for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Onstage, Josh charms audiences using his good-natured storytelling and cracks them up with his sharp, pointy wit. He takes topics from surprise parties to his experience teaching preschool and makes them all equally hilarious. This spring, he made his late night standup debut on Conan (TBS), and he can also be seen on the first season of Night Train With Wyatt Cenac (SeeSo). Josh’s newest comedy album Physical Whisper debuted in March at #1 on the iTunes comedy charts (as well as #4 on the Billboard comedy chart) and stayed there for…well…longer than he expected, honestly.
Emmy Blotnick is a comedian who was named one of Comedy Central's Comics to Watch. She’s currently a writer for The President Show on Comedy Central. Previously she's written for @midnight with Chris Hardwick, The Roast of Rob Lowe, Not Safe with Nikki Glaser and other fun shows. Emmy has appeared on @midnight and in festivals including SF Sketchfest, Riot LA and the New York Comedy Festival. You can hear some of her standup here on WNYC's 2 Dope Queens.
Larry is a performer, writer, director, and comedian residing in New York City.
He is a staff writer on upcoming TruTV show Paid Off, where the winner of each show will receive full student loan debt relief. Awesome!
Larry recently completed his first feature film, To Dust, opposite Matthew Broderick. Named one of TimeOutNY's "comedians we're obsessed with " Larry studied drama and improvisation at the School at Steppenwolf.
Alison Leiby is a comedian and writer in New York. She hosts "It's a Long Story" at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, a stand-up and storytelling show that's been running for over two years. Her writing has appeared in McSweeney's, VICE, The Hairpin, and many other publications. She co-authored the two parody ebooks Lean Over: Women, Work, and Women's Work and Marry Smart OR DIE. You can find her performing around the city when she isn't busy looking at her phone.
Rachel Pegram is a comedian, actor, and writer living in New York City. Onscreen, Rachel can be seen in the Adam Sandler Netflix movie The Week Of, as well as Don't Think Twice, The Chris Gethard Show on TruTv, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, The Late Show, Comedy Central, MTV, College Humor, BET and more. In 2018 she was chosen by Comedy Central as an "Up Next" comedian and performed at Clusterfest in San Francisco. Rachel performs regularly at Union Hall, both as a writer/performer with the sketch group Lo-Fi NYC and as co-host of That Shit Ray, a monthly late night-esque variety show. She also does improv at Asssscat at UCB Hells Kitchen.
