Henna Roso is a collective of musicians based out of Tulsa, OK making big moves early in their career impressing people with their sophisticated and danceable interpretations of modern funk, jazz and soul. They have a strong following across Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas and are building nation-wide.
Henna Roso comes from the spanish "generoso" meaning generous. Uniquely, Henna Roso is dedicated to fighting food insecurity by donating 10% of all revenues to organizations that fight hunger. In a year they have raised over 30,000 meals for people in need. This band is as much of a movement as it is music.
Branjae is the birth child of Classic Soul, Funk and R&B. With a culmination of lyrical depths, energetic theatrical performances and genre fluidity, her storytelling style comes as unique as the personas she embodies. Branjae’s fearless and energetic showcase, encourages elevated consciousness by connecting with her audiences for the soul purpose of creating unity and harmony.
Born in the city of Motown and rooted in the city of The Gap Band and Leon Russell, songwriter Branjae established herself as a full-bodied, triple entertainer. Singing, dancing, and acting her way into the hearts of concert audiences from Tulsa to Austin’s SXSW, from Atlanta to Chicago, and across the sea to England, Branjae has developed a tailing of followers. She went on to earn awards from Absolute Best of Tulsa, 5 nominations for the We are Tulsa Music Awards, and recently gained recognition from Oklahoma Magazine for being named as Oklahoma Best of 2018 alongside Hanson and The Flaming Lips.
Her voice has been likened to the rasp of Lauryn Hill, the alto register of India Arie, and the soul of Nina Simone, while her stage presence heavily influenced by the leg work of Tina Turner, confidence of Michael Jackson, and the commanding presence of Freddie Mercury.
Branjae has developed an abundance of experience as an entertainer. She’s opened/shared the stage with Thundercat, Fishbone, Ohio Players, RC and the Grits (Erykah Badu’s current band), Andy Frasco and the late Waymen Tisdale. She also co-fronts the loud, funky, socially opinionated band, Count Tutu, alongside songwriter and guitar player, Nathan Wright.
Dane Arnold & The Soup
Singer Dane Arnold teamed with a collective of Tulsa musicians including Dominick Stephens, Johnny Mullenax, and Matt Teegarden.
Roots of Thought
Roots of Thought is a group of young healthy boys that conjures up a funky psychedelic alternative kind of noise. We have been jamming like jelly since 2010. Our objective in life is to spread our music to each persons set of ears, while showing the world what love, peace, and happiness can bring to life. We have a good time, and hope that you all gain a good experience from us. One love.
Henna Roso will be releasing their debut album "Feed the Hungry" and throwing a community food drive to benefit the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. $10 from every ticket sold will go directly to the food bank (40 meals per ticket sold). It is our goal to raise 100,000 meals in our first year and make this an annual event of music and giving.
