Demons & Wizards

Side project of Iced Earth's Jon Schaffer and Blind Guardian's Hansi Kürsch. The idea for the band arose in the spring of 1997 when Kürsch and Schaffer wanted to make music together, after being friends since Blind Guardian and Iced Earth toured Europe together in the early 90s. The band name comes from the 1972 Uriah Heep album of the same name.

The demonic band in the 1988 horror film "Black Roses" sings the song "Me Against the World" off of the album "Visual Lies".

Former Lizzy Borden guitarist Corey Daum (a.k.a. Corey James) was killed in a car crash on Saturday 24th January 2009 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was 39 years old. A Kentucky man, Charles Wolford who admitted he had been drinking, was charged with vehicular homicide after police said he drove into a concrete wall, killing Daum.

Týr is a folk metal band from the Faroe Islands. Their subject matter revolves almost entirely around old Nordic lore, mythology, and history, taking their name from the Norse god of law and justice. They signed a worldwide deal with Austria's Napalm Records in early 2006, while signed to the Faroese record label Tutl. In September of 2012, they signed a three album deal with Metal Blade Records.
