Aron Magner, Jason Fratecelli and Matt Scarano are SPAGA. This project is the brainchild of one of The Disco Biscuit’s founding members, Aron Magner, a renowned keyboardist whose early forays were in piano. By the age of 13, jazz caught his mind and his journey took another direction entirely. With the Disco Biscuits, he has taken his skills into the jam rock world of improvisational excursions, but has always maintained a particular affinity for jazz. Bassist and composer Fratecelli is a touchstone in the Philadelphia and New York music scenes and has played with Melody Gardot, Robert Glasper, G Love and Matisyahu as well as with his groundbreaking ensemble, Fresh Cut Orchestra. Scarano, another fixture on the Philly music scene sits on the throne for this combo and is an educator with University of The Arts, Camden County College, The Boysie Lowery Living Jazz Residency and the Education Committee of Philly Drum Project. This is some special sauce here, people. Dig.
