B.Miles came to life in the dead of winter 2015, born from a troupe of close friends and trusted musicians locking themselves in an old storage unit-turned-recording studio on the remote ends of Brooklyn for days, weeks, at a time. They emerged with Miles’ debut, ’Twenty Fifteen,’ a brooding fusion of pop, R&B and electronic influences that effuse shadowy overtones, vulnerable sensibilities and a chilling edge. The EP garnered a remarkable level of attention, with all three tracks hitting the Top 10 on Hype Machine and B.Miles reaching #1 on Spotify's Viral 50 charts in four countries. “Salt” particularly took on a life of its own, tallying over 15 million Spotify streams and being selected as the theme song for the Netflix original drama "Cable Girls." Thebreakthrough track received radio play on BBC Radio 1 and KCRW, completely unbeknownst to Miles until she received a flood of messages from friends and family in Southern California.

B.Miles returned to the same Brooklyn storage unit in early 2016, with the same team in tow, to record her follow-up. Dotted with lush strings, driving electronic beats and an eclectic array of samples and soundscapes, the collection was released as a self-titled EP in March 2017. Upon its release, the EP was deemed "mesmerizing" by The Fader and "universally addictive" by Nylon. Paper proclaimed B.Miles was "becoming a true force in alt-pop" while Time noted Miles was "poised for a breakthrough." The EP's lead single "Running" hit #2 on the Hype Machine charts, was selected as a Spotify 'Weekly Buzz' pick and was added to Apple Music's Indie Pop playlist. To celebrate the early success of the EP, Miles and her four-piece band headlined New York's Baby's All Right as part of Neon Gold Records' PopShop series, and shortly thereafter played the rooftop of Manhattan's Standard East Village as part of their Annie O Music Series. Subsequent live performances have included the Bowery Ballroom and Public Arts in New York, Ohio's Midpoint Music Festival and shows with BadBadNotGood, The Naked and Famous and Noname.
