Active in the Philly scene Bill Jolly is a (3) time Emmy Award-winning composer/ arranger/ musical directorand keyboardist. He’s been featured twice in Keyboard Magazine and has composed music for HBO, MTV, NBC, ABC, CBS, Showtime, Columbia Tri-Star Pictures, Millennium Films, Coca-Cola, McDonalds and numerous companies globally. He’s appeared in endorsements for Verizon, Hyatt, Bose, Korg, ProjectSam and Advanta Bank. Bill has directed The Emmy Awards, The Marian Anderson Awards, The Rhythm and Blues Foundation Awards, Susan G. Komen’s “Honoring the Promise” Gala (at the Kennedy Center) and Radio One's 25th Anniversary (featuring Beyonce'.) Bill has arranged musical tributes to Earth Wind and Fire, Billy Joel, Wynton Marsalis, Queen Latifah, Bon Jovi, Shirley Caesar, Nina Simone, Hall and Oates, Berry Gordy, Chaka Khan, Bill Withers and Jam and Lewis (to name a few) with all the artists in attendance.Bill has performed musically for (5) U.S. Presidents as well as both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions. He’s performed onstage with Celine Dion, Usher, Michael Jackson, Pink, Ledisi, Michael Buble’, Lalah Hathaway, Shania Twain, Kim Burrell, Stevie Wonder, Brian McKnight, Aretha Franklin, All-American Rejects, Musiq, Michael Bolton, Anthony Hamilton, Quincy Jones, Jill Scott, Bonnie Raitt, Tyrese, Paul Schafer, Estelle, Patti LaBelle, Gerald Albright and Wayne Brady to name a few. Bill directed the Grover Washington, Jr. Reunion Concert, Dionne Warwick and Friends and conducted the orchestra for the Sony/PBS/Live Nation TV special “Love Train: The Sound of Philadelphia” as well as the late Teddy Pendergrass’ DVD, “From Teddy with Love.” He also appeared in Teddy’s “Unsung” episode on TV-One.Bill’s theater credits include Stephen Stahl’s “Lady Day,” (The Billie Holiday story)starring Dee Dee Bridgewater, (Off- Broadway, London and Paris tours) the Off-Broadway comedy, “Norma Doesman,” “It Ain’t Nothin’ But The Blues,” “Ain'tMisbehavin',” and the gospel play, “The Gate Called Straight.”Bill was a founding member of the Phila. NARAS branch, was inducted into the Overbrook High School Hall of Fame as well as the Phila. Music Alliance Walk of Fame (as a member of MFSB). He received the 2014 "Will Smith Overbrook High School Distinguished Alumnus Award" and West Chester University's Distinguished Alumni Award and “Drum Major for Peace” Awards. Bill also received the African American Museum’s “Living Legend Award” and Conglomerart’s 2016 “Living Legend Award”. He's collaborated with Oscar nominated director Lee Daniels on his 2012 film, “The Paperboy,” starring Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron, Matthew McConaughey and 2013's “The Butler,” starring Oprah, Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Jane Fonda, Lenny Kravitz and Forrest Whitaker. Bill delivered the Commencement speech at West Chester University's 2013 graduation ceremony (receiving a standing ovation) and was the global winner of Hyatt’s “The Big Welcome” contest which netted him 365 free Hyatt stays and 1 million free airline miles. Bill Jolly has seen all 7 Wonders of the World and is a single father of a beautiful young daughter named Bianca.
